Thanks for sharing. At first I thought they were duplicate threads, but no, two different stories; it is so distressing to realise just how many horrendous men are out there doing this.

The #EndEyeCheck campaign sounds like it is really gaining ground. Huge respect to all these incredible women speaking up.

This is just so disgusting and terrifying. To think there are scores of men out there that are doing this to their partners. I feel like there should be more awareness - maybe a list of things to look out for? It's chilling to think this could have already happened to any of us in current or previous relationships. From that article, red flags would be unexplained and recurrent UTIs, and partner who makes your evening drink.
I have at least one experience I can think of where I may have been drugged when I stayed at a guest in someone's house. Lots of things that don't add up, but I will never know.
Well done to this brave woman for pursuing justice and sharing her story.

@Iriseee It's actually got me thinking about women being over represented in various un / under explained health conditions. You'd hope drugging would be picked up through any diagnostic process and I try not to be too paranoid but I really can't help but wonder.

OMG I never thought of that. I think we know that secret abuse by a partner isn’t, or hasn’t been, on healthcare professionals’ radar. Gisèle Pelicot was given all sorts of tests and scans for Alzheimer’s and other problems, but nobody thought to check for her being drugged against her will.

And nor did they think to check for STDs given her Gynae problems. If she’d been 35 or 40 I think they would have - but not at 70. Which is a little odd because her husband could have given her an STD at any age. Although maybe he’d been tested??

My husband assaulted me a couple of years ago just as I was drifting off to sleep and I froze. It happened a few more times too. It made me realise he’s been doing it for years and I’d ignored various signs. I think he filmed it too. I don’t think he has ever drugged me but I drink too much and he has definitely taken advantage of me - not total rape but close enough sexual assault stuff that I only realise later or never know about. Only clue is he always used to say how good I looked sleeping naked and posed naturally.

So sorry to hear that @inthesamesadboat and I hope you can get some support. You absolutely don't deserve to be treated that way. Sending you love and strength.
