Petition calling for more women’s toilets in building regulations

This petition, which has been running since January, hasn't had much traction, and I thought Mumsnetters might be interested in it. Recognising that women spend more time in the toilet, and the resulting lengthy queues, it's asking that government update building regulations to create more women's toilets:

Long overdue.

Signed. I’m a regular theatre goer (including newer built venues like the Barbican and NT) and it gives me the rage that women basically lose the interval. I was at an event the other day where due to partial closure of the building, men were having to queue. The number who literally couldn’t see the line of blokes waiting and went straight to the door was hilarious. They were absolutely bemused by having to wait. It’s a classic case of equality not being equity.

l noticed something similar happening once at Menorca airport. Almost always the men’s toilet is located first on the approach. In this case the women’s was first and I saw multiple men approaching the loo then realising to their surprise it was not the men’s.

Signed - theatre loos are often problematic.
