Parliament offers staff mental health support over new trans guidance

House of Commons staff have been advised to contact trans activist groups and mental health workers for support if they are upset by official guidance protecting women’s right to single-sex spaces.

Last month, the Equality and Human Rights Commission (EHRC) told businesses and public bodies to bar trans women – biological men – from female lavatories and changing facilities.

An email sent to all Commons staff called the new advice a “challenging and sensitive issue” and provided links to “external sources of support”, including a group which opposes the new guidance.

It suggests that distressed transgender people could visit a helpline run by the controversial LGBT Foundation, which says there is a “very real risk” that the EHRC’s code of practice could exclude trans women from essential services.

The email also links to a web page for trans support groups which highlights Mermaids, a charity that supports the use of puberty blockers.
It also told staff that “mental health first-aiders are available during working hours” for those with concerns.

I just reread, and noticed this:

‘Deeply concerned’
In a statement on its website, the LGBT Foundation states: “We are deeply concerned about the potential impact of this guidance, particularly on trans women, the wider trans community and cis-women whose gender presentation isn’t stereotypical.

[deeply concerned about ... ] cis-women whose gender presentation isn’t stereotypical.

Hmm, so the reverse of this would be that they are NOT deeply concerned about "cis-women" whose gender presentation IS stereotypical.

So women who look like "stereotypical" women don't have to worry.

So what does a stereotypical woman look like?

Is it long hair, makeup, high heels, skirt, jewellery, nail polish, and head tilt?
(I assume so, otherwise they would look like men (?) and therefore the LGBT Foundation WOULD be concerned about them, but they're not concerned about them)

So a trans-identified man who wants to look like a woman typically uses the following to signal that he wants to be treated as a woman: long hair, makeup, high heels, skirt, jewellery, nail polish, and head tilt.

Ergo, a trans-identified man who thinks he is a woman, looks like a stereotypical woman!

And, yet, activists always say that gender ideology is nothing to do with stereotypes...

I don't think the LGBT Foundation really wanted to choose that wording. Oops.

What. The. Fuck?

'It also told staff that “mental health first-aiders are available during working hours” for those with concerns.'

And who are these 'mental health first-aiders'? Where do they come from? Who's financing them? Have they been pooled from existing mental health services? Does that mean members of the general public who are suffering with mental health problems will be deprived of their skills while they're off providing 'mental first aid' to the Parliamentary trans community?

Enquiring minds need to know. 😡

*I doubt Sandie Peggie, the Darlington Nurses and any of the other women who've found themselves in tribunals, court cases or generally fighting for women's sex based rights were offered any mental health first aid.
