We are also discussing this article in this thread here.

NB Sarah's defamation action against the Fox Basher has got to the next stage and she now has a great barrister working for her on a no win no fee basis. GLP in trouble. Gardening needed.

I must admit I skim read this article, and thought isn't this really an article about the GLP?!

I am sure everyone else in the legal profession are keeping their heads down, apart from the women mentioned in this article.

@IwantToRetire Thank you for that. I was annoyed though that the article said
“was taken as a victory by many with trans-critical views.”

That sounds like criticising trans people as a class which is not the point.

Thanks for the link.
There's another barrister on YouTube, The Black Belt Barrister, he's GC amongst other things and he's always saying he's been reported to the watchdog, although he doesn't give any details. Nor have the one's mentioned in the article, who are all women funny enough, maybe it's time they started naming and shaming so we can all see what's going on.

I'm also a bit put out with this change to 'trans'-critical, I've not heard it before, there's another thread that's discussing 'Trans+', also a new one. Are the goal post being moved? is someone shifting the narrative? it's already confrontational enough without it being ramped up another level. 🤔

Agree. Why can’t the papers say women’s rights campaigners? Or human rights as Sex Matters does? We would be critical of any group (men or women) who decided that women don’t deserve rights and spaces of their own.

That’s the sleight of hand trick they use with language though. They subtly change “gender critical “ (being critical about the concept of gender) to “trans critical” (critical of trans people) to give out the message that we believe something we have never claimed.

It's not being torn apart.

It's a bunch of vexatious claims to intimate and harass by using the system against competent individuals.

It's an abuse of power and position.

They know what they are doing is harassment. They work in the legal field.

But the problem is, which is what I took from the "torn apart", is that just as at the BBC and the Guardian etc., there will be any number of barristers etc., just not wanting to say anything in public.

So the few who are standing up for women's rights aren't getting the backing of what may be a large group.

But just as in every other sphere of work, the majority stay silent.
