Helen Joyce’s book Trans: When ideology meets reality is one of The Sunday Times best non-fiction books of this century. I concur!

There's also Invisible Women and a title I've not heard of before It’s All in Your Head: True Stories of Imaginary Illness by Suzanne O’Sullivan. Obviously I've not read it and I have qualms because we've all heard far too many tales of women who've, at worst, have been killed by what was 'in their head'. However, I wonder how it reads as a handbook to the trans madness. It's probably written a little too early though, even assuming the author was brave enough to go there.

Joyce is in fact in extremely rarefied company as most of the entries on the list are histories or biographies/memoirs. Trans: When Ideology Meets Reality was (firstly) of it time, elegantly written, comprehensive in subject matter and fearless. It came out at the height of the global fight against misinformation which assumed Orwellian proportions by trying to quash anything that tried to dispel the misinformation surrounding the trans debate - in that respect it's a prism of the dysfunction of our age and civilisation.
