Bits of the Guardian may be gaining a small degree of sanity, but not here

Lots about trans dignity, no thought for women and hasn't bothered to ask the thoughts of any female athletes.

As long as only a couple of women are cheated out of their medals we should all put up and shut up or we are Trump supporting lunatics. Glad that's cleared up!

Well duh, yes you get "policed" if you want to be considered part of an exclusive category, to check you do actually belong in it. Like age categories, weight categories, disability categories for the paralympics, and yes sex categories. Words with definitions have boundaries to those definitions. That's how we know when someone is talking bollocks, or is mistaken or incorrect in whatever way. "Woman" does not mean whatever you want it to and include whoever wants to be included.

I think the first and most egregious stupidness in this is in the title - the moronic assumption that "policing" ie defining and checking that someone actually is in a category, is some kind of shock horror terrible fascist thing to do, and everyone will clap along like seals "oh yes, policing anything is terrible!". No it's not. I'm a woman and I think the category of woman should be "policed" so that people who are not women can be excluded. Not because I hate them. Because I don't want them in the female category thereby causing harm and unfairness. Just as would happen if we didn't police disability, age, etc. in sports.
