Judges given training by pro trans groups - Scotland

Employment judges were given trans awareness training by pro-trans groups.

Representatives from Scottish Trans and <a class="break-all" href="https://archive.is/o/NICUq/www.telegraph.co.uk/news/2025/11/07/trans-activists-influencing-british-schools-sports-nhs/" rel="nofollow" target="_blank">Gendered Intelligence delivered training sessions to judges regarding how to approach cases involving trans people.

In two sessions, they were told how to refer to trans people during proceedings and what issues they faced in the workplace.

Gendered Intelligence, an English charity that claims that biological sex is not a “settled scientific category”, delivered a session in 2018 to employment judges in England and Wales.

In 2019, a representative from Scottish Trans gave a presentation to Scottish employment judges to “raise awareness” of “protected characteristics”.

The group is part of the Equality Network – an LGBT charity funded by the SNP that supported former Scottish first minister Nicola Sturgeon’s controversial self-ID reforms.

More Scottish tax payer money wasted.

A message to the judges in Scotland (and the rest of the UK) sex realist views are "Grounded in FACT and LAW". Make sure your judgements are likewise GFL. 🤬

At least it was 2018. We knew this was happening then - ETBB and all that. I just hope it has changed/wouldn’t happen now

Sounds a bit like 1984

I think what would be more re-assuring would be if someone was tasked with looking back judgements since the and whether in light of some rulings how they would be treated now.

Mayve, sadly, no differenve?

Good point Retire. One I would definitely want changed - and the judge to give a grovelling apology - was a case of a woman being raped (I think) by a TW back in maybe 2018/19. He was found guilty but she was denied any compensation and reprimanded from the bench for not using she/her pronouns for her attacker 🤯

I dont remember that, but totally shocking.

In fact, unless I missed it, the article doesn't give any indication that there has been any counter training to the one from the trans advocates.

I was going to suggest someone from Rape Crisis or Women's Aid in Scotland but then remembered they would just re-inforce the trans training.

Couldn't Sex Matters, For Women Scotland or Women's Rights Network provide training that highlighted the law and not trans ideology?

This.

Any one of those three groups should be commissioned for training as balance. Otherwise it's very obvious bias and lack of principles. Either don't engage at all with political lobbyists - particular for 'training' - or ensure you hear from both sides, particularly if you're in a position of high responsibility.

I'd be willing to bet on whose training materials were then found on investigation to be in keeping with the actual law.
