A way to help women in Afghanistan

Like a lot of people, I would like to help women in Afghanistan but didn't have a clue where to start. So thank you to Women's Rights Network for highlighting the work of Victory Afghanistan in their newsletter.
It's a charity that helps educate women and girls and you can support it by becoming a volunteer teacher (you don't have to have formal training as a teacher) or making a donation.

There are other online initiatives that have been mentioned on previous threads.

But the problem is there is low level of internet access across the country (17%?), and of course the fact that even without instruction from the Taliban women are less likely to be given access.

And of course the terrible economic situation.

High Internet Costs and Lack of Equipment Leave Girls Shut Out of Online Education

Obviously better to help some rather than none.

This looks like something even I can do. I find it despicable that so called world leaders stand by and watch what the women in Afghanistan are being subjected to.

Oh gosh, what an organisation.

But does it put a woman in danger to be engaging with these lessons?

Where is volunteer data held?

This is such a good initiative. There's so much at stake for the women and girls trapped in their homes - if they can't get an education, and don't learn English then they really are trapped in a life they would never choose for themselves.

Its heartening to see this dork. I feel so hopeless and helpless when it comes to women and girls in Afghanistan. Its great to know some women and girls are being helped and this may give them the skills to escape in the future. Or at least give them hope.

There’s also a petition asking the government to exempt Afghan women from the study visa suspension.

Thanks for sharing. Signed.
