Good news, at least for now. Thanks to all those campaigning.

🚨 BREAKING : THE HAGUE
The global surrogacy industry tried to secure international recognition.
It failed.
No consensus at the Hague Conference (HCCH) to move forward with a convention recognizing parenthood in surrogacy cases.
Women are not for rent.
Children are not for sale.

The men and women abusing surrogates and purchasing other human beings are people traffickers / modern-day slavers

Pudmyboy · 11/03/2026 21:38

Thank you, is is refreshing, not to say amazing, to see that this has been achieved.

BeSpoonyTurtle · 12/03/2026 18:16

A step in the right direction.

Great news!

Commercial surrogacy is banned in Australia. So 'commissioning parents' (what a phrase!) started going overseas, then after various scandals, the Australian government banned Australians participating in commercial surrogacy anywhere in the world. Various idiots decided to test the law on this and now can not bring the babies back to Australia. I think such a stance is the only way to stop it internationally. The USA is another problem all together.
