Thread here - Grauniad just late to the party:

Clearly does not understand that 'gender identity' is not something everyone - or anyone - has. I don't 'feel' female either, I just feel I am 'me'.

theDudesmummy · 12/02/2026 13:47

Oh, sorry I didn't realise this is not a new thing! It just jumped out at me this morning and I wondered whether I feel "massively feminine in my being female". I concluded that I have absolutely no idea what that means.

OP posts:

Somebody on the other thread suggested it was a long-winded way to say 'I like short hair'😂
[not an exact quote, and I don't remember who said it, but chapeau to you].

Just like no man knows what it feels like to be a woman, no woman knows what it feels like to be a gay man, so don't be daft, Olivia😠

To answer your question, theDudesmummy, it's bullshit all right, and it's not even fresh bullshit😁

IsadoraQuagmire · 12/02/2026 14:31

Oh she's ridiculous 🙄

Defend Drag Race GIF by RuPaul's Drag Race

The Guardian licking the bum of the 'lovvie' glitterati. Never seen that before.

Dear Olivia having to tolerate the disdain of the unwashed masses. Heaven forfend. Circle the wagons. Build a fortress. Our rallying cry 'save this national treasure'.

"I’ve never felt massively feminine in my being female". What on earth is that supposed to mean?

I thought I liked Colman.

I like this discussion because it really gets to the heart of what's really up the gender critical movement's craw. The 'safety of women' is just another right wing trojan horse version of 'what about the children' con in order to smuggle in their true agenda/grievance which is usually anti women, LGBTQ & immigration. For the gender critical movement its a grievance with femininity/masculinity which is short hand for typical female/ male behaviours. They can't accept them as existing in any form other than as an enforced 'stereotype' probably because it triggers their insecurities with non conformity.

The over reaction/Freudian slip to Coleman's benign comments is dead give away.

Nobody has "insecurities with non conformity". It's just seen as trivial and not even worthy of comment.

Over reaction? It's not an over reaction to point out that she's not a special non-woman for not conforming to stereotypes, and she's definitely not any sort of man. She's just a woman like the rest of us.

I may be way off point, but I always saw OC as very feminine - the roles I’ve loved her in have been rather maternal and sweet, I’m thinking Green Wing, Flowers, Peep Show. I’d struggle to think of a more stereotypically ‘feminine’ actor.
I’ll still enjoy her, despite her ludicrous luvvie announcement, but then I always found her ridiculous-ness charming.
