Finding a law firm to take on my case

I'm been in a dispute with the Pagan Federation and the British Druid Order for discriminating against me due to my GC beliefs. I initially went to the press with this and ive been persuing it since then. This started in April and I'm at the point of taking legal action. I've contacted 4 different law firms and they are coming back to me saying they have a massive waiting list and not taking on new cases.

I've tried DPG Law, Leigh Day and a couple of others (can't recall off the top of my head).

Can anyone direct me to a law firm that can help me please, and that has capacity?

I'm sorry, I don't. Good luck. Always here to support a crowdfunder, and of course JK Rowling's fund is available. Could you contact Sex Matters to see if they can advise?

I'd also recommend contacting Sex Matters as they have lawyers they work with. You can PM me if you like OP.

agreen try Sex Matters, they have lots of experience in this area.

the firms saying they’re not taking on new cases t the moment mean that they don’t want to touch it with a barge pole.

This. 40% of their cases are women with gc views.

I remember you from previous threads, OP. Wishing you all the best with it. Lots of women here happy to support you.

[Edit to correct the percentage!]

I'm struggling to do a PM, I don't know why, could you message me please?

Watch your timings. If it relates to a specific event you have a strict time limit to bring a court action (six months I think).

TeiTetua · 02/11/2025 19:56

Hmm. I rather doubt if Christian Concern would want to take this on.

Might Legal Feminist be able to help? https://www.legalfeminist.org.uk

Leigh Day are complete TRAs so no wonder they told you they were “too busy”.

How about trying Peter Daly at Doyle Clayton? He’s an employment lawyer so may not be able to help you himself, but he’s acted in high profile GC cases so may be able to refer you on to someone.

Or perhaps Lawrence Stephens who acted for Michele dewberry in Virgin active case?

6 months from first complaint?

Six months minus one day from the discriminatory event, three months minus one day for employment. IANAL though. I presume ongoing discrimination enables you to continue to take action and there might be circumstances where you could argue around the time limit.
