If sex work is such an attractive career why aren’t the men who are fathers not recommending it to their daughters and wives as a career?

We actually had a family like that on our patch. Mum and daughters were prostitutes, dad and son were their pimps.

I helped carry the coffin of a very young woman who's brother took her out every night to sell herself on the street so that he could buy drugs. He got her addicted. She died of a heart attack, and he didn't come to her funeral.

It's tragic isn't it. I had to move on after a couple of years as it is hard when you have these things in your head. So many sad stories and that's just meeting women and seeing their stories, God knows how you cope if you've lived it.

newtlover · 23/10/2025 21:38

drugs so often in the picture somewhere😞

On another thread there was a discussion on whether the wife/partner should know and who should tell them if their husband/partner was using sex workers.

Yes, they can send their children (boys and girls) to schools that offer prostitution as work experience. Just to see if they like it.

My only point of disagreement with Julie B is her unwillingness (certainly in the past) to acknowledge and accept that some women are willingly involved in the abuse and prostitution of other women and girls. Otherwise she's absolutely on point imo

Yes it happens, always shocked me when it was the mother. Well it is always shocking but I could never understand how a mother in particular would do it.

Julie Bindel lies about the sex industry. She falsely claimed that Pornhub "has a war rape category" which it has never had.

Love Julie Bindel. Real feminism isn't for wimps.

lcakethereforeIam · 26/10/2025 08:34

I'm not clicking that link, but I'm prepared to take your word for it because I'm not googling it either. I'm prepared to believe you, for research, have trawled Pornhub extensively and it's cleared that incredibly low bar. Which still doesn't make it okay.

Perhaps this is why so many pro sex work people also seem to support legalisation of drugs.

Zack Polanski, I'm looking at you.

Could you tell us other lies that Julie Bindel tells about prostituted women and children and pornography? I'd like to know

She wrote in the Guardian "[S]tudies have found that that at least 70 per cent of women working in UK brothels are trafficked from places such as Africa, Asia and Eastern Europe." Penalising the Punters Guardian G2 21 November 2008. The newspaper had to retract the statement because no such studies exist.

Of course Chris pops up to smear JB's name. God forbid a valiant defender of women and girls being praised.

whatflite · 26/10/2025 10:50

People need to teach this stuff in schools.

Chris has an alert set up for when prostitution is mentioned on FWR 🤮

JB's claim (no collaboration, no screenshot or archive, just her own word) was published by a site called unherd who of course went for max manipulation points by posting it along with a photo of a crying woman holding a girl. They know their target audience- people who are easily manipulated and don't care about facts or fact checking.

PH seems to be the porn site people like to try and sling mud at the most, perhaps because it's the most well known one. However compared to many lesser-known porn sites PH is actually one of the most secure in terms of safeguarding:

-Only verified users can upload videos

-All videos by non-verified users have been removed

-Has a blacklist of words (yes this includes words like war and r*pe) that if a search includes any of them it will not attempt to perform the search and take the user to a specific page warning them the search may potentially be illegal. see image.

-Complies with the UK's online safety bill

-Progress with PH and some of the other most well known porn sites are being made still, with the sites now rolling out requiring proof of ID and consent of everyone appearing in every video.

You certainly can't say that about all porn sites (and thanks to the online safety bill, people who want to look at porn who don't have a VPN or want to verify their age will just end up on a lesser known and more dodgy porn site).

Funny because just 1 year later the Guardian posted this:

https://www.theguardian.com/uk/2009/oct/20/government-trafficking-enquiry-fails

"The UK's biggest ever investigation of sex trafficking failed to find a single person who had forced anybody into prostitution in spite of hundreds of raids on sex workers in a six-month campaign by government departments, specialist agencies and every police force in the country.
The failure has been disclosed by a Guardian investigation which also suggests that the scale of and nature of sex trafficking into the UK has been exaggerated by politicians and media.
Current and former ministers have claimed that thousands of women have been imported into the UK and forced to work as sex slaves, but most of these statements were either based on distortions of quoted sources or fabrications without any source at all."

This was the UK's biggest ever anti-trafficking investigation to find the thousands of trafficked victims and their traffickers some tabloids and politicians were telling us about. They didn't find much...

Inquiry fails to find single trafficker who forced anybody into prostitution

Are people really saying that no woman or girl has been forced into prostitution? Or that none have been brought from other countries to be prostituted ? Which rock do you live under? I have worked with women in both circumstances.

Ereshkigalangcleg · 27/10/2025 01:21

Police fail to find a single foreign woman who will testify that the pimp who brought her in is abusing her when he has told her that if she goes to the police he will kill her family shocker.

Ereshkigalangcleg · 27/10/2025 01:25

They’d only have to look in Rotherham, Rochdale etc, after all. It’s not exactly a huge leap of imagination that women and girls are forced into prostitution all over the world.

Oh nos! Will no-one think of the pornographers!

KittyRannaldini · 27/10/2025 09:23

I was forced into it. I knew countless women who were forced into it. We were told to tell the men who paid for us that we wanted to do it if they asked.
We were sold to police, doctors, lawyers, teachers, judges, surgeons. So we knew, nobody was going to help us.
There's videos of me on pornhub that I didn't consent to. I was being forced, in the videos. There's videos of me on other sites. I've asked for them to be taken down and the answer has (if anyone actually answered) always been No.

It was legal UK agencies that I was put to work in because traffickers aren't stupid enough to put a load of women into one illegal brothel that's going to get raided. And the agency owners and receptionists knew that I and plenty of others were being forced, and they didn't care. Because we couldn't say No to anything, and that meant they made more money.

I can't read this thread any more, sorry. Thank you, thank you, to everyone who has said kind things to me. It means more than you can know.
