The BBC has kneeled at the altar of trans activism, putting virtue-signalling progressivism ahead of hard-headed realism and impartiality. In doing so, it has amplified the calumny that anyone who believes women’s sex-based rights matter, and that being a woman is more than a costume or a set of behaviours, is a bigot who must be condemned, cancelled and ostracised. More damningly, it has played a part in convincing an entire generation of children who are experiencing entirely normal growing pains, or discovering their true sexuality, that they may have been ‘born in the wrong body’.

Graham Linehan is right: there needs to be a reckoning at the BBC

Ever since Graham Linehan’s bail restrictions were relaxed and the Father Ted creator was allowed back on X, he’s been firing off a blizzard of posts with the urgency of a man who senses that, for the first time in years, he is finally being taken seri...

Thanks for the link, it was an eye opening article, but until people like this author start coming out and saying things publicly nothing going to change at the BBC.

" He told them: ‘No one’s irreplaceable, we’re all dispensable. That’s an absolute, unequivocal position being given to the whole BBC.’ "

Well I know who I start replacing first, the BBC shouldn't have 'activist' pressure groups within it, that's not what we're paying our licence fee for. 🤬

I’m on my way to bed, and have just heard this on the BBC World Service. ‘The World’s Broadcasting Service’ , it says.
The discussion is about freedom of speech, and the difference between the USA and the UK.

After discussing someone in the UK who was sentenced to 31 months imprisonment for inciting violence on Twitter, the conversation moved on to Graham Linehan being arrested as he arrived in the UK.

One presenter has asked the other who Graham Linehan is. The response is that he’s the second most prominent anti-trans activist in the UK: the first most prominent anti-trans activist being JK Rowling ‘of course.’ This was not challenged.

(I’m not sure if they know that GL is Irish.)

Radio Times tells me it’s an episode of ‘The Global Story.’ The next one is at 11:32am on Friday, so I’ve set the machine to record it in case it’s a repeat. It sounds as if it might have been originally broadcast in anticipation of Trump’s visit. It might be this programme. I’ll listen to it later but will sleep first.

Did anyone else catch it?

Interesting article. I disagree that it’s worse than Savile (does it have to be? Odd comparison) but I do think that the BBC’s diabolical conduct there should have really made them pause and reflect on how they treat and recognise women. This all stems from the same misogyny that, too many times, dismisses the voices of women and girls. And Tim Davie is a weak-minded wally.

Misgendering can be illegal under UK hate crime legislation if it's part of threatening or abusive communication intended to harass, alarm, or distress someone due to their gender identity, which falls under the protected characteristic of "gender identity" in the hate crime definition in England and Wales. Media reporting is also regulated by Ofcom through its Broadcasting Code, which requires broadcasters to have due regard for the privacy and dignity of individuals.

You might want to get this deleted hows? It's the type of gaslighting misinformation highlighted in the OP that the BBC is so fond of.

Just to clarify: Protected characteristics are part of the Equality Act, which is not criminal law. The categories do not map across, ie misogyny as hate is not illegal. Criminal “hate” law has “protected strands” and it’s slightly different - it is “transgender identity”.

The journalist Nick Wallis has spoken about a conversation he had with the Director General of the BBC about the threat to its reputation due to its failure to accurately report all manner of aspects of the removal of women's rights, child safeguarding and being in thrall to all the delusional transactivist groups. In the link below)
It's good to see the increased pressure on them to return to serious trusted journalism rather than their toddler like infatuation with transactivism.

Look, you obviously have no clue of the context or history of the UK's culture and institutions. Let alone an understanding of the law.

So I suggest dramatic and completely inaccurate proclamations are a bit daft.

Really interesting.
So of the nine protected characteristics in the Equality Act, five pretty much directly map onto the five characteristics in hate crime law (ignoring minor variations in wording, e.g. gender reassignment vs transgender identity).

The four that are not hate crimes:
Age
Sex
Marital status (inc. civil partnerships)
Pregnancy and maternity.

Who gets hated/discriminated against for their sex? - mostly women
Who gets hated/discriminated against for their age? - mostly women
Who gets hated/discriminated against for their marital status? - mostly women
Who gets hated/discriminated against for their pregnancy? - always women

(And yes, the BBC is stuffed full of misogynistic tossers).

Anything can be harassment depending on the context. Sending pizzas, cards, flowers, drinks, for example, to your ex. The laugh emoji was removed because some posters said it was being used to take the piss. Misgendering is nothing special except some forces seem to act as though calling a man, a man with no aggravating feature is a crime.

Most people couldn't care less about gender identity. They care when men pretend it gives them rights they don't have.

Stay out of the ladies and away from women's space, and you can gender your identity til the cows come home.
