Feminism: Sex and gender discussions

I got my emailed update on the reply, it left my brain itching, it read like a whole lot of flimflam.

"DHSC’s longstanding position is that health information should be as clear as possible and language should be used that appropriately reflects sex as defined in the Equality Act 2010."

Longstanding since April 25 you mean, if the NHS had been to committed to such a sensible position we wouldn't have 'birthing parent' or 'chest feeder' or 'cervix haver' or 'women' instead of man. 🤯

It's a great reply. Anyone who is battling with individual instances of ideological language can now quote it to the NHS or govt entity responsible, which will make it much harder for them to be fobbed off or misrepresented.

Which NHS is the Government talking about.

Clearlly not the one that many on FWR are regularly posting example of how they dont use sexed language.

Along with the fact that they way it is written is long winded waffle.

The petition was for NHS England but has been brought about because of the FWS fight. Which bits are waffle @IwantToRetire

The long drawn out paragraphs which were more about not admitting they had failed.

It could have just been 2 or 3 lines saying we may have got it wrong in the past but are more than aware that in terms of health provision biological sex (not identity) is the basis of that provision.

Along with other minority groups the NHS will be aware of differeing needs, but remains committed to sex based health diagnosis and provision.

(I genuinely think a lot of people just wouldn't read it all.)
