L'Oreal & Only Fans & Teenagers

A newspaper reported on Saturday that L'Oreal has decided to partner with an adult content performer who posts videos of sex acts on Only Fans to market their makeup range (Urban Decay) which is targeted at the teen and young person market.

If a woman chooses to make money through Only Fans then that is for her. However, in my opinion it is grossly in appropriate of L'Oreal to partner with this type of 'performer', particularly as this product range is targeted at young women and girls.

Laughably, if you look at the L'Oreal website they bemoan the rate of violence against women and girls, & the company mentions 1 in 3 women in the world suffer from sort of physical or sexual violence. Yet, they seemed to have missed the very well established body of evidence linking the increased availability of pornographic images with persistent levels of violence against women and girls.

L'Oreal claims one of their corporate objectives is to support the well-being of women.

Is it just me, or can anyone else see this decision is a massive disconnect or as some may put it, L'Oreal spouting about womens empowerment is simply corporate hot air.

No it isn't just you. Maybe L'Oréal could do with some emails.....

Another bloody company to boycott. It's as if they don't know who does the shopping.

I think the CEOs email is [email protected]
and the chair is [email protected]

Mailed them Saturday and had no non-delivery notice as yet.

FFS, another marketing team with no scruples or common sense!! 😡

murasaki · 12/08/2025 14:18

L'Oréal previously hired Munroe Bergdorf so their judgement has been whack for some time.

MySparklyShark · 12/08/2025 15:09

Thanks for posting this, I’ve just sent off an email to complain.

Allthegoodnamesarechosen · 12/08/2025 15:11

I think their CEO may have quite a few things in common with Munroe.

AnSolas · 12/08/2025 16:04

Look like a hooker
Because you are worth it

Not quite the luxury branding tag line I would go with ... but who knows it could be a winner for girls and their Mums buying into a mid-range brand🤷‍♀️

I sign up to Instagram at the start of the year as my daughter has just turn 13 and I always check social media for my childs safety. As a 49 year old man with no history on on the platform the first thing it started promoting were these Only Fans accounts. The video were of young women doing dancing and or makeup just like the ones my daughter views on Tiktop, but what they were saying was coded porn innuendos. The comments by older men we weird and kind of disgusting. I complained to IG but they wouldn't uphold my complaints. I hear that porn agency are targeting young female influences, with what can only be described as a grooming approach. Promising wealth if they go on Only Fans. Starting them on 'soft' content and telling them they have to do 'more' to get the big money. I also fear that young men will see the way these older men interact with the porn actress as believe this is the way a normal way to behave around women.

AnSolas · 18/08/2025 11:46

Markexcol you also need to check your child's phone results as the tracking data used by apps will give her different content.

ArabellaScott · 18/08/2025 11:55

Ooh, the Fawcett Society are risking being put in teh basket of deplorable SWERFs, there.

newnamewhoopwhoop · 18/08/2025 13:14

I have just had a response to the email I sent to the global CEO of L'Oreal

The email reads:

"Dear Ms.....

Thank you for sharing your concerns regarding the recent brand partnership on Urban Decay. We deeply value your feedback we understand your perspective on this particular campaign.

L'Oréal is unwavering in its commitment to promoting positive values, empowering women, and ensuring our brand associations consistently reflect these core principles.

We are looking into this and will make aure our actions continue to align with the high standards you expect from us.

Thank you again for taking the time to share your thoughts with us.

Best regards"

If anyone else who hasn't done so already, please spare the time to write to him and the Chair (email addresses below) I think it might be helpful.

I do not want young girls being advertised to using Only Fans stars. A global company like L'Oreal that purports to "promote positive values and to empower women" should know better.

Thanks!

And yes, I sat on my hands and declined to point out their spelling mistake :)

Will do, thanks.

deadpan · 18/08/2025 14:49

I wrote too and had the same reply... blah blah blah basically. Empowering worm seems to mean to some quarters that young women should be able to take part in pornography

ArabellaScott · 18/08/2025 20:57

I've emailed, thanks for the nudge. Although I was cross I didn't swear. I probably deserve some kind of Mumsnet medal.
