Union campaigner to sue PCS

Ms Mackenzie believes that trans activism has become the de facto policy of her union and that it directly threatens women’s rights.

“I’d begun to notice a change in the nature of the motions in the equality section occurring around 2016,” she recalls. “When you’re on the National Standing Orders committee, you get a wide oversight of the state of the union. You’re seeing every motion from every branch and you have to determine if they’re competent and within the rules. I was the only female on it and there are no women on it now.

“Among those being put forward, there were suddenly many concerning trans rights. I began to fear some of the demands within these motions might be in breach of the Equality Act 2010 and carried the potential to bring the union into disrepute.

“Whenever I started to talk about issues from a woman’s perspective someone in meetings would always say ‘and transwomen’. But these were biological men. I assumed that more people would speak up. But as time passed I felt I needed to try to understand this ideology more.”
She says as the campaign by trans activists to cancel her award proceeded, it was accompanied by moves to humiliate her in public.

Giving this a bump as the priminary hearing date is set for 6th May, and there is still fundraising needed.

It was so stark in the last case re NHSE and Faye how much "the unions told us to do it" was spouted as an attempted get out clause. They have such a lot to answer for.

And in Faye's case NHSE actually said that they hadn't consulted with any women's groups because they expected the unions to watch out for women's interests.

This is the archive link to the original article for those who haven't seen it. Appalling treatment by the union she'd worked so hard for.

Thank you for this

As previously advised, PCS Union applied to have the indirect discrimination element of my case struck out and their application was heard before Judge Campbell sitting at a Glasgow employment tribunal on 6th May 2026. I am delighted to inform you that in a written judgement dated 1st June 2026, Judge Campbell refused the union’s strike out application rejecting their argument that the indirect discrimination aspect of my case had no reasonable prospects of success. This means that I will be able to lead all the evidence I have at a final hearing relating to my position that the union has adopted a gender identity belief as an institutional belief. I am very much looking forward to putting all this evidence into the public domain.

Gardening required - Naomi doesn’t come cheap but she’s worth every penny

Clotheshorsesarehorses · 03/06/2026 23:31

Hello everyone and thanks for your gardening! I believe that some of my witnesses and my evidence will reveal and hopefully expose the impact of gender id on women members. Winning the preliminary hearing is significant and thanks are due to Margaret Gribbon and Naomi Cunningham for getting me to this point.

good luck fiona, particularly interested in your case as I used to be quite active in Unison until a senior official chided me for not being more sympathetic to trans people as they experience similar discrimination to me as a disabled woman also of a particular religion. I left the union that same day.

Good luck, Fiona! I’m shocked that you were the only woman on the committee, and now there are none. Absolutely basic stuff, even before the hounding you were subjected to! Disgusting.
