'This groundbreaking Report on the impact of EDI in the workplace exclusively surveyed LGB people. It shows why a disaggregation of the data is vital to report accurately and meaningfully for lesbians, gay men and bisexuals.
Respondents spoke of a ‘compelled conformity’ at work.
They said, “I was told what the LGBTQ+ community was and what I think, even though I disagreed with nearly all of it. Nobody asked my opinion, even as a gay man. I was just told what I thought.”'

'Key findings of the Report include:

91% feel uncomfortable being grouped under the broader LGBTQ+ umbrella commonly used in workplace EDI policy and initiatives
Over a third (36%) have been advised by HR to stay silent about views that conflict with staff LGBTQ+ groups and DEI initiatives — while 86% avoid expressing their views altogether, fearing consequences such as job loss or disciplinary action
79% of LGB employees say workplace “LGBT” training does not address LGB-specific issues'

Modern corporations are increasingly resembling the British Raj where governors were constantly baffled by issues arising from different communities, castes and creeds that they knew little about. Their solution was inevitably to magic up community leaders who they believed represented those communities, whether they did or not was irrelevant. The rulers were seen to be doing something and various lackeys managed to make a living from it.

These days 'community leaders' are largely shoved forward by corporate sponsored charities like Stonewall, there is absolutely no attempt to find out what anyone else thinks, and opinions are catered to the corporations and wealthy individuals that provide the funds.

The world is still not a good place for LGB people, and all the organisations and "training" that should protect us only bangs on and on about the T, forgetting the quiet majority who are only allowed to speak when supporting the TQ and only trotted out in support of them, and then we're supposed to get back out of the way. Specific people want our bodies at their pride parades and protests to boost numbers and look popular, and to validate them, and that's about as far as the LGBT+++++ "community" seems to go.

Unfortunately, it's very difficult to get accurate stats on what actual LGB people think (kudos to LGB Alliance for doing this) because so many Ts, Qs and genderwoos self-identify as LGB as well as their other letters so they respond to these sorts of surveys and skew the data on what we think, so their thoughts are conflated with ours and we don't have a separate voice and space.

And what's really depressing is there are still a lot of LGBs out there who think this is right on. Not a majority, I don't think, but a lot in terms of raw numbers.

We've got a bloody long way to go, still. I don't think we got what we needed from society in terms of acceptance and visibility before we were steamrollered.
