Feminism: Sex and gender discussions
Helleofabore · 05/07/2025 13:35

Sadly, I am not surprised at all.

Boiledbeetle · 05/07/2025 19:07

There are currently 19 transgender cons imprisoned in Scotland, but the secretive SPS is refusing to say where they are situated.

It is understood that there is at least two biological men living among women in either female-only prisons or wings, with both of them convicted murderers. Paris Green and Alex Stewart are identifying as women and have been allowed to live among the female population, with the latter even sparking up a relationship with a fellow inmate.

SPS are playing very dirty pool. This is absolutely horrendous. Is there any mechanism within Scottish or UK law to challenge this?

SternJoyousBee · 06/07/2025 10:57

When I see crap like this I really wish karma was was a thing. It’s evil to lock up women with men. TIIC at SPS no doubt feel very smug about how kind they are being to TIMs but their actions are evil.

TheOtherRaven · 06/07/2025 10:59

Always so very, very desperate to avoid women's rights and protections and to prioritize a man.

They might be calling him a woman; if they actually thought he was, they would not give a toss about him.

BunfightBetty · 06/07/2025 11:07

Just why are they so desperate and determined to put dangerous men in cells with vulnerable women?

I mean so very desperate and determined that even now, following the SC judgement and all the opprobrium heaped upon them, they still keep them there.

It’s baffling. Does somebody up high have some sort of weird, self-serving agenda of their own? That’s driving a public service to feel it can break the law and ignore the wellbeing and safeguarding of vulnerable women in favour of men?

It’s really strange. Ordinarily civil service/government agencies are uber-cautious about following the law. Yet here they do the opposite - knowingly break it. Make it make sense.

I think it will take a judicial review of the SPS policy, I'm not entirely sure.
However both fws and sex matters are threatening the Scottish government over its refusal to deal with self-id policies including prisons

I wonder how many cases and faffing around is going to have to happen before the establishment are prepared to admit they now follow the faith of gender over and above the law they're in paid positions of trust to serve. Including the Supreme Court, apparently.

GrandmaMazur · 06/07/2025 21:07

Is this just Scotland or is this still happening in England too? I can’t understand how anyone can justify locking women up with violent men.

Yes, this is what I’ve been wondering - why in the world would they do this? They are deliberately making the lives of generally vulnerable and abused women worse.

Yes they are criminals but locking them up with men who can rape and intimidate them is a cruel and unusual punishment.

Any man with a GRC and men who have amputated their penis and some extra special ones with a penis (that have been okayed by the home secretary) only are allowed in women's prisons in England.
In Scotland, it's any man who claims lady feelings who hasn't been convicted of violence against women plus those who have that the SPS deem not to pose an unacceptable risk to women (they won't tell us what an acceptable risk is), plus those who pose an unacceptable risk if they have a grc which is better than it was before they put a double rapist in the only women's only jail in Scotland

The TRAs are on record as having targeted women prisoners as noone cares about them and if they could get jails they could get anything by pointing at the jails. It was a disgustingly cynical planed 1st move in the war on women that happened in 2014 under Alistair Campbell watch, he's been very vocal about how he was conned by them.

Yes, I guess that begs the question - why are they still doing this?

After all we’ve seen of the harm, the information they’ve been given about the issues and the terrible publicity of Adam Graham they still persist.

And just to add the cherry on top, it sounds like that woman who murdered the little boy in the most heinous way is actually benefitting from this policy. She is apparently in a sexual relationship with one of the men which will give her all sorts of power over the other women.

I think it would be helpful if the people in charge of this could be invited to explain their inhumanity towards women thinking.

Plugsocketrocket · 07/10/2025 08:32

I’m nearly sure they do it for the same reasons some poor teachers move trouble making boys beside girls in classrooms, because it makes their lives easier.

Keeping trans prisoners safe against men is much more challenging, keeping women safe is not something they need to concern themselves with because after all who is going to listen to women in prison.

RoyalCorgi · 07/10/2025 08:33

It's against the law. Why are they allowed to break the law?

I think you must mean Rory Stewart, who was Tory Minister for Prisons 2018-9 . Alastair Campbell is very pro trans and self ID.

"Female prison officers were raped by inmates claiming to be trans, Rory Stewart reveals" (Telegraph, 12 April 2020)

I so hope there’s some sort of employment tribunal featuring the SPS in the pipeline somewhere. Just think what that might throw up.

They are still hanging on to their Stonewall diversity scheme subscription:
https://www.thetimes.com/article/7d987fef-bd79-46ed-913d-2ea89bab60f5?shareToken=4ee78fae3c836a287faeb351357e0487

From that article (my bold) :

Stonewall has said that it supports organisations that “remain steadfast in their commitment to providing safe and inclusive spaces for everyone, including trans people”. In response to the Supreme Court ruling the charity said, wrongly, that it was “not law as yet”.

I suspected they were still giving incorrect advice surreptitiously but this is blatant.

There is an excellent podcast where an American rapper whom I did not recognise spoke about taking out insurance policies for his children based on wrongful injury and wrongful death. He reckons that if every black family were in a position to do that, in a couple of years police targeting of black children would be a thing of the past.

This is similar if there were insurance companies being held liable for the consequences of these decisions to house male prisoners in a female prison within the prison system then this issue would be gone in a year.
