Amy Hunt interview - moved me to tears

Just reading about the Amy and John Hunt interview with Victoria Derbyshire. Their family was murdered last year by an ex boyfriend whose actions had been fuelled by the violent misogyny he had seen on social media. Amy has said "There is "a serious obligation as a society to change men's behaviour, because this is a man's issue - it is not a woman's issue".

What can we do? How are we going to change things?

The whole thing is on BBC now. Very moving

She's incredibly brave. Well done Amy. So moving and honest.

Ten minutes ago I almost started a thread contrasting her words with the absolute lack of regard to the role of misogyny in the case of Child Q. Yes it's right to focus on police racism, but police misogyny is a huge element too. BUT they have just rewritten large parts of the article and added the sentence:

"It was also alleged that no adequate concern was given to Child Q's age and sex, especially after she removed her sanitary towel."

I wonder whether seeing the two stories side by side on the homepage made the penny drop for someone at the BBC.

Child Q unsure she will 'feel normal again' after strip-search

The woman, who was 15 at the time of the strip-search, was wrongly suspected of possessing cannabis.
