TBF (and apologies for a derail) he was right though - the leisure park is one of the least Cambridge-y parts of Cambridge and that restaurant had a view of traffic lights. The fact that houses around Hills Road are massive (and overpriced in terms of available amenities) didn't make it a good place for a restaurant. Feels much more 'town' than 'gown' there for sure.

Love to hear that Martina Navratilova is keeping things real still - a powerhouse of tennis and women's rights!!

The main features of that area are large houses and prestigious schools/sixth form. I was born here and even when the cattle market was where the leisure park is now the neighbourhood was not 'town'. In those days it was 'gown' because academics could afford to buy mansions. Now it doctors and commuters. It's true it's on the outskirts, but in the same way Midsummer House is but with a less good view. In the article he fails to mention Restaurant 22. That was and is near Midsummer House but on a main rd with major roundabout. Alimentum, didn't fail and only closed because of a marriage break up. Currently Cherry Hinton Rd just beyond those traffic lights is having a culinary moment of cafe life.

I haven't seen the interview yet, but I love the deep friendship between her and Chris Evert as they supported each other through each woman's journey through cancer and recovery.

And i think Amol Rajan's interview last year with Billie Jean King is definitely worth a rewatch

I always loved the friendship between the two of them too - fierce rivals, different origins, different identities, different paths in life, but always the friendship through thick and thin, and then the shared challenge of cancer..
The more I think about it, the more inspiring it feels💖

I haven’t watched the interview, but my expectation is that an interviewer of Amol’s intelligence and ability would deliver straightforward questions on trans issues with the full expectation that Martina would smash it across the boundary with her response (providing good copy and getting her point across).

Have no idea what that is about, or who he is.

Just glad the BBC gave her a chance to talk about women's sport being for women.

We need jungle I’m afraid…..
