Not sure if the post has now been removed, but I took this screenshot yesterday - about intersex Right Whales...

Even more strictly speaking there is no third gamete and no such thing as intersex. There are DSDs which are sex specific. #uber-pedant

I have learned more about this prizewinner. He is not a woman, apparently, but was brought up as a girl. I think he should not have got that prize. Whales might agree with me on this one.

Why can’t whales enter writing competitions? Writing should be inclusive.

Well, the thread is about intersex whales and there's this intersex Dutch person who has just won an award for a first novel (a women's prize) and they have said how much the trans community has helped with fixing DSDs - the person is male but presents as female...it seemed to fit...
As for the the whales, we have no idea whether whales recognise or accept DSDs but I doubt there is such a thing as a trans whale, whales know the difference between a female whale and a male one.

Not #uberpedant at all. Factual information that trounces the idea that DSDs have anything to do with trans woo woo.

I am thinking of entering my dog for a writing prize.

I am entering my cat in Crufts next year.

He understands the command sit and just chooses when he will obey, somehow that tends to be when treats are on offer rather than normal food
