This is nonsense, right?

Met up with an old friend today, she was telling me how her son was trans. However it turns out sometimes he’s he, sometimes he’s they and sometimes he’s she.
I gently suggested that he’s just a very confused young man. it didn’t go down well
but ffs. I’m obviously cutting contact but it shows how fucked up this whole thing is
she’s adamant that when he decides he’s a woman that he’s a woman

I think your analysis is accurate.

Anyone who believes they can change sex has a level of confusion, this is a little bit more confused than even that base level

MatronPomfrey · 26/05/2025 22:01

Yes it’s a load of nonsense. Don’t know how they’d cope if they had real problems in life.

user101101 · 26/05/2025 22:04

Why do you need to cut contact. Surely maintaining contact might help your friend

can you not agree to disagree

Seethlaw · 26/05/2025 22:09

Sounds like genderfluidity?

moggly · 26/05/2025 22:20

Sounds like that Pips Bunce nonsense.

NPET · 26/05/2025 23:10

Sorry, but has "it" got a p or a v?

MistyGreenAndBlue · 27/05/2025 00:12

Look at me. Look at me. Mummy mummy Look at MEEEEE!
PAH! 🙄

storminabuttercup · 27/05/2025 05:49

Sorry to clarify sex of the teen is male

cutting contact isn’t maybe the right term as hardly see them anyway but I can’t sit through another conversation like that again

I suppose it depends on demeanour and history.

A dear friend, reeling in shock and desperately trying to help a struggling child, I could bite my tongue.

An acquaintance belligerently demanding compliance for their little Timmy/Timonetta/Timneutralending, ain't no-one got time for that.

OP's example sounded more like the latter.

She's adamant that when he decides he's a woman he's a woman? Yes, it's nonsense, and she's delusional.

rebmacesrevda · 27/05/2025 08:48

He's attention-seeking and she's enabling him. You're wise to give them a wide berth!

Igmum · 27/05/2025 08:52

Yes it’s nonsense but hopefully this insane veering from on identity to another as though they were game characters means that he isn’t medicating. That’s a pretty large mercy.

user2848502016 · 27/05/2025 10:58

Yes of course it’s nonsense and your friend is indulging it.
I always think if these boys took a trip to Afghanistan they would decide pretty quickly whether they’re male or female!
