Anyone see it?
Asked why she couldn’t use the disabled toilets, she answered “because we haven’t asked disabled people if we are ok to use their space, and it’s not fair to them”
I mean really?!?!!!

Loooool

but also FFS!! Women are just wallpaper to them

Chersfrozenface · 19/05/2025 07:55

If challenged with "You haven't asked women if you are ok to use their space - is that fair to them?", I guarantee that VMcC would reply "I don't need to, I AM a woman".

EweSurname · 19/05/2025 07:55

Do you think he would ever connect the dots about what he’s said, or does he just lack the awareness to do so?

Myalternate · 19/05/2025 08:01

Was that the person that said they were 8 stone and would not be a threat to athletes so no reason to exclude other men from female sports?

KarCat · 19/05/2025 08:25

He also said that as an actual woman with female anatomy he would not be safe using male toilets, with men in there with actual, you know, penises.
How the fuck do you think we feel mate?!?

He doesn’t have female anatomy. He has a crude pastiche of female anatomy only achieved by mutilating his male anatomy.

The other day somebody on FWR posted about a TwiX account of a TW who records the personal number of trips to men’s public loos without incident. IIRC, it’s something like a thousand.

Maybe the more apprehensive could recruit male allies to accompany them. The social value would be tremendous.

Yes. He reached a thousand pics last week. I think in doing so he is doing a great service and it should make other male people with transgender identities feel so much more secure!

Helleofabore · 19/05/2025 09:20

Someone last week posted that a male perso. having breasts, a fake vulva, estrogen softened skin and removed body hair = a female anatomy.

Kinsters · 19/05/2025 09:21

TWAW is so ingrained that they do seem to genuinely believe it and therefore can't make the leap from "we should ask disabled people" to "we should ask women" as how can one ask oneself.

Peter Daly on that American podcast (can't remember the name) suggested that transgender could potentially meet the criteria of disability so it's not an unrealistic option.

Lemonz · 19/05/2025 09:30

Chersfrozenface · 19/05/2025 07:55

If challenged with "You haven't asked women if you are ok to use their space - is that fair to them?", I guarantee that VMcC would reply "I don't need to, I AM a woman".

Or "I've been doing it for X years and have never been challenged, ergo no women have ever been intimidated or made uncomfortable by my presence".

Because everyone knows the first thing most women do when they encounter a man whose behaviour is upsetting them is start a confrontation with that man in an enclosed space.

Lemonz · 19/05/2025 09:32

And yes, extremely telling that he wouldn't just go in the disabled toilet and wait to see if anyone dares to tell him off.

(Most decent people would assume he had a disability so wouldn't tell him off).

MarieDeGournay · 19/05/2025 10:00

Apart from the obvious 'you didn't ask women, did you?' what he said isn't great either rom a disabled person's point of view,:

Initially, I thought - oh good, he's acknowledging that able-bodied people should not use the accessible toilet - that's as it should be.

But the idea that able-bodied transgender people could magically gain the right to use the disabled toilet if they 'asked disabled people if we are ok to use their space' is so stupid!

I mean, when you want to 'ask disabled people' if they want to surrender their sole rights to the use of their toilets, who do you phone??

Who do you send a deputation of transfolx to negotiate with? What disabled person has the right to say for all other disabled people 'Of course you able-bodied trans people can use the toilets we campaigned for since the 1960s, and which unlike you we actually need - but we accept that it's so important that you transfolx feel 'comfortable'.. 😠

Women's toilet, men's toilet, disabled toilet, reserved for people who belong to those groups, full stop.

NeverOneBiscuit · 19/05/2025 10:03

When Richard Madeley asked him after the recent ruling which toilet he would/should use (I think he said would you use the gents?) he said ‘I don’t know’ as if it was all a complete mystery to him & so complex.

Bloody enraging. A judge pretending that he doesn’t know that as a man he should be using the men’s toilet, or a gender neutral one if available.

Only caught the last few minutes, but Susannah’s simpering was horrible to watch. Mcloud was never challenged about women’s right to privacy & dignity away from men, all he banged on about was his 8 stone frame & ‘female anatomy’ 😡 not being a risk. Helen Joyce would have taken him apart, but of course women like her aren’t invited onto this type of show.

ArabellaScott · 19/05/2025 10:25

But again we see this - disabled people may include males. So of course McCloud will consider them actual human beings with agency, rights, and dignity.

Women, not so much. Women are expected to do as McCloud tells them.

ArabellaScott · 19/05/2025 10:26

And in fact, given the 'default male' setting that so many people operate from, and society often reverts to, I expect the mental model of 'disabled people' leans towards 'male'.

Lemonz · 19/05/2025 10:29

Of course.

It's absurd to suggest that you could ask any group as massive and diverse as 'disabled people' or 'women' for permission for another very diverse group to use their spaces and get any kind of definitive answer.

His horrible rictus grin with teeth like gravestones was actually pretty scary!

I think they lack much self awareness, that’s the nature of narcissism, which these men have in spades.

LittleBitofBread · 20/05/2025 10:04

So they didn't challenge him with 'how about asking women?'
Quelle surprise.
