A trans woman is on the sort list to represent Unison’s female disabled members on their executive committee

It is only so far being reported in GB News, The Telegraph, and The Daily Mail.

Maybe the man in question will not be chosen in the end but Unison is evidently not a good union for women if they are pursuing this approach in spite of the recent ruling that Women in the Equality Act are a sex not an identity.

Waple has vowed to take her seat if elected, telling the Telegraph: 'The biggest threat to women’s rights is not trans people, but rather the one per cent of super-powerful rich, clinging to their wealth and denying real funding for housing, domestic violence services and women’s services.
'The undemocratic and unaccountable Supreme Court ruling plays to the false narrative and agenda that trans people are a threat to women and will only serve to create a climate of fear among trans people.

Unison said it was an internal electoral issue that is consistent with its long-standing rules,
(Daily Mail)

The fact that Unison/Waple thinks it is ok to take the place of an actual woman on this short list of disabled ‘women’, only goes to prove the narrative that men identifying as women are a problem for women.

That's my issue.

As a practising Nurse I need to be in a union. But the RCN is just as bad.

I'm not a nurse but similar need union backing , so I joined GMB as seen a cracking GC rep Helen O'Connor I think her name is. They have the woke boys but she is fab so I figure if anything happens, she might help us.

I don't think it would be wise to repeat it here as it's defamatory and unevidenced. It can be found by searching X for flatmate and Waple, however.

I voted in this election - there was one female disabled members seat and one general disabled members seat.

My local rep (male)has been very vocal objecting to the Supreme Court ruling and calling for challenge. I have left unison because of it, they weren’t bothered, their reply suggested that I may regret my decision if I need representation.

@Gasp0deTheW0nderD0g I'll try and sign up- my nose is bothering me ! 🤣
@Binman The absolute arrogance saying that to you. I so loathe them. I really wish more members would leave and hurt them where it hurts. Might wipe the smirk off their faces. 🤬

I’m so glad to have this properly mansplained!

There I was thinking men invading women’s spaces and taking their jobs, sports prizes etc was a serious problem of its own. And that rich people failing to pay enough tax was a totally different and unrelated problem.

But now I understand that anything harmful men do to women is not a problem.

So glad to have that cleared up!

Can you point to a union in the same sector that ISN'T captured? It's all a nightmare.

I'm not in a unionised sector so have never had the "benefit" of representation. I'm always curious about why unions are needed - but if you have always had one I suppose it is difficult to drop it? Like insurance - you mostly don't need it but there will be that one time you do...

Do they could both end up being men.

I can't believe I am saying this but - that would be a perfect outcome!
Let people see how ridiculous it is.

I'm guessing the men would be pleased with the outcome and the women, well, they obviously don't care what women think.
