I have wondered about this a lot.
I've mentioned this here before, I went to university with a very devout Catholic fellow, who went into business. He joined a company and worked there for years, there was really no crossover with his religious beliefs or practice, until about 2015.
After that, more and more, their training stuff and company charity stuff seemed to revolve around Pride and Queer related stuff. Not, from what I understand, because of any connection on the part of the higher ups, it was more a "cause of the day" situation.
It got more and more uncomfortable for him with expectations to go on a float in the Pride parade, use rainbow branding and such, that he actually left the job.
Years ago i remember a boss I had telling me that when they chose a charity to support, they basically tried to make it as bland as possible, so it would be something that everyone could support. And we certainly didn't have programs telling us what to think about socially contentious issues.
I always think this stuff is really over-stepping.
