Excellent. Keep 'em coming!

Good. They still use the words ‘assigned female at birth’, though, which is disappointing.

Given the huge pushback I’ve seen among HR professionals and a few woke companies, I’ve been feeling less optimistic than I was immediately after the SC ruling, but all these sports falling into line makes me feel more hopeful again.

I guess sports were always ripe for an early return to reality because it’s much more obvious that men don’t belong physically and also, saying “Waah! I can’t play football any more!” will inevitably not get as much support as men saying they can’t go out because there are no toilets they can safely use. I know, I know, neither are true, but if they were, one would naturally be more of an imposition on life than the other.

I hope the domino effect continues and that common sense spreads beyond the UK as it is discovered that not letting people into opposite sex spaces actually resolves a lot of tension and doesn’t actually lead to genocide.

The UK government defines sex as referring to the biological aspects of an individual as determined by their anatomy, which is produced by their chromosomes, hormones, and their interactions generally male or female something that is assigned at birth.

Is that not an old definition used by ONS (minus a couple of semi-colons)? Hasn't that been dropped in the most recent release?

The government definitions, which were included in the 2019 article, are no longer current and do not reflect a current cross-government agreed position.

I saw on another sports thread that it’s been insurance cover which has finally forced these changes through.
Do we know if that’s true?

bluegoldflow · 02/05/2025 14:15

I am fairly sure that many will have to change their rules to exclude transwomen i.e. men from women's sports because allowing males into women's sport will not invalidate their liability insurance.

Hopefully insurance liability will also force other providers to start obeying the laws to keep transwomen out of women's spaces.
