As I have not seen a thread about this, I just wanted to alert people who may have missed this exceptional episode.
The headteacher of Brianna Ghey’s school talked about how her school has banned smartphones but more than that, as a teacher of twenty years she explain the effect on pupils of having them and the effects of removing them. She was eloquent and anyone hearing her would be convinced that her course of action for her school is absolutely correct. As Sir Keir Starmer loves bringing up B G perhaps he should take note and stop being complacent on this.
Then Charlotte Proudfoot was interviewed at length about her fight for abused women in family courts, what is wrong with the system, especially because of it being closed, and she described the missuse of accusations of ‘parental alienation’ that derive from a U.S. pro-incest psychologist. She also tells how she herself was dragged through a court case by the system for exposing some extraordinary judgements while male colleagues were not. ( She was vindicated). She also related how she, as the daughter of a single parent, only the second in her family to go to university, became a barrister having seen a wonderful, ‘legally blonde’ type barrister and realising if that woman could do it, so could she. She mentioned she is bringing legal proceedings for the discriminatory legal attack on her.
Then they talked about George Elliot.
What inspiring women.
The programme today was fantastic and lived up to its name.
