Is it me or this in seriously bad taste? Tying her mother's recent death and underfunding in the NHS to some shite about 'The relentless demonisation of trans people'.
She also gets in a facile mention of that non-problem, women who present as men in women's spaces.

I think that she's allowed to process her loss in the way that works for her, and is allowed to grieve how she wants to.

Ah, didn't find that one; thanks!

Grieving is one thing, but writing for public consumption is another, no?

I'm sorry for her grief and loss.

She has a nasty track record on dismissing less privileged women's concerns in favour of bien-pensant beee kiiiind-ing - a la Caitlin Moran and Alistair Campbell.

Both can be true.

As it says, thought is free. People are equally free to present the opposite viewpoint.

Not in the guardian they’re not.

Zoe

You weren’t keen on leaving your son overnight.

Read WRN hospital report.

Now think about the problem with leaving a daughter.

It’s about mixed sex being a risk. You can see how dire the situation. Can’t you think about girls and women too?

I'm not objecting to her 'opposite viewpoint'. I think it's very tasteless to make a piece about personal loss into a piece about trans people.

A&E is like a 'war zone' but thank the Lord we've got all these millions to spend on gender affirming care and court cases that tell us what everyone already knows, that humans cannot change sex, even with a certificate that says they have.

Quite.

My Dd was a teenager, immobile, and I had to leave her as she was on an adult ward. There was a woman who was clearly unwell mentally, and fixated on Dd all night. Two nurses had to restrain her at one point when my Dd asked for the curtain to be shut. In the end, she allowed them to open the curtain as it was less hassle for everyone.

I am very glad that very busy ward was at least single sex.
