Do not get me started on the Arran ferry. I made the idiotic mistake of believing Calmac when they said the old ferrry, the Caledonian Isles, would be back from its 16-month service (yes, not the usual 2 weeks, 16 months at god knows what expense) at the end of April and booked my ferry ticket to go to and from Ardrossan, which is the normal ferry port but only the Cally Isles can use it. The new ferry can't, because Peel Ports, which owns the port, hasn't upgraded it for the new ferry and the Scottish government has somehow failed to force them to do it. The Alfred, hired at enormous expense from Pentland Ferries, can't use it because the only berth at Ardrossan suitable for a catamaran has been condemned as unsafe and taken out of us because, you've guessed it, Peel Ports didn't bother maintaining it and the Scottish government failed to make them do it. So I have to go to and from Troon instead, which adds a couple of hours to my journey to and from London. I wonder NS dared show her face in Troon. Maybe she was scooting away from furious ferry passengers.
Saw her raven on the lunchtime news just now.
