Yes, there is still a lot of misunderstanding about what the SC judgment means. Some commenters at the Guardian seem to think it will be up to each individual service provider to decide whether trans women can enter women's spaces. Rory Stewart also seemed to say this at one point during his podcast with Alastair Campbell. I can understand the confusion to some extent, because the same claim was made by Jonathan Sumption, who should definitely know better.
There are some recurring themes. Also on the podcast, Campbell claimed that it would be difficult to police the rules. This seems to ignore the fact that there were already rules in place before last week (i.e. according to the Scottish govt, AIUI, you could only enter women's loos if you were either a woman or a man with a secret GRC) - even according to the most liberal interpretation, men who don't identify as women have never been supposed to use women's toilets, so rules about entry have always existed - but you wouldn't know it from the Guardian cartoon portraying a chromosome scanner at the entrance.
However... it's very good that the Guardian is now finally allowing BTL discussion about these issues. Previously it was almost unknown for comments to be open on an article that discussed these matters, and anyone who said anything sceptical of the TRA case used to have their comments deleted but I think this is happening less often now.
