And yet a few of my trans/queer TRA friends are planning their 'exit strategy ' as the UK apparently isn't safe for them anymore.

dudsville · 23/04/2025 09:15

If it wasn't, then is the pic manipulated to distort the truth? And if so, can that be traced to the creator of the image? Or have I watched too many TV crime dramas?

She thinks we're malfunctioning partially-sentient support bipeds, so clearly we are stupid.

Bit like Ocado and their "temporary" "contractor" non-apology.

If they want to move to a different country and can arrange it, they have just as much right to do so as any other person.

ETA - this is in reply to Haddy.

NotbloodyGivingupYet · 23/04/2025 09:25

Apparently the Police initially claimed that there was nothing to investigate but have changed their position following evidence provided to them by the Daily Telegraph.

ArchibaldBoyd · 23/04/2025 09:26

She needs to go to Specsavers

AmandaHoldensLips · 23/04/2025 09:27

The police have no appetite for facing up to the reality of these violent thugs, their threats against women, and the hatred shown by this men's rights movement.

It's easier to blame women for daring to defend their hard-won sex-based rights.

TheOtherRaven · 23/04/2025 09:27

There would seem a pretty major issue with a police minister who cannot see evidence even when it's plastered all over the press.

Of course they can, and they will and I'll miss them. But I didn't see any signs at the weekend wishing "death to queers". Seeing as no laws changed I'm not sure why they think it's suddenly so dangerous here.

TheOtherRaven · 23/04/2025 09:29

Quite. If women having rights too and having to respect other people as a two way street is so absolutely petrifying then I wish them luck in finding a country they feel happier in.

If only they showed such prudent reticence when rushing to arrest people for dangerous stickers or evil Tweets, eh?

All anyone has to do is a reverse image search and they can easily see whether a photo has appeared online before.

Women? Not only having really naughty, sad-making rights but putting up stickers about them?

MrsOvertonsWindow · 23/04/2025 09:37

Good to hear her nonsense being challenged by the presenter who pointed out that the image you shared above was from Jo Grady (UCU) actually at the march ( showcasing a poster promoting death by hanging for women).

The lack of due diligence by the Met & the minister is quite something to behold. Although given the Met's involvement & funding given to extreme transactivists and anti women organisations, their minimising of threats against women isn't a surprise.

Just wondering if anyone is following this on TT. It’s quite bizarre. The first witness attended the Trans Training session which I gather is where th...

wtf

Retiredfromthere · 23/04/2025 09:39

Do you get a feeling that the 'lying to people to get them on our side' tactics by TRAs and allies may be being called out? (Would not like to be the person who lied to this MP in response to a specific question - which she doubtless asked because she was being interviewed on this topic).

Iran is great for trans people apparently. They even get government funded treatment. Not at all coincidentally, homosexuality is punishable by death. As an added bonus, the Iranian government isn't all that fond of women speaking their minds.

JellySaurus · 23/04/2025 10:09

So it's when these placards were used that is important, not that they were calling for violence against women?

Ereshkigalangcleg · 23/04/2025 10:27

As pp said, Jo Grady literally did an SNP and stood in front of one to be photographed 🤪

EasternStandard · 23/04/2025 10:40

It’s good the interviewer was on it and up to speed.

More than can be said for the Labour MP speaking who would have been spreading more lies if not called out on it.

seXX · 23/04/2025 10:42

If she thought the images were old, surely she could easily confirm what investigation was done at the time and provide the outcome...

nauticant · 23/04/2025 10:47

From my time as a Civil Servant, if I'd given misinformation to a government Minister and as a result they'd been caught out on air not telling the truth, I can't imagine the bollocking I'd have got.

I wonder if the Policing Minister will be following this up in a similar way.

The Reddit/Bluesky hugbox has been a very bad thing for a lot of people, and this includes the many trans identified people who have been erroneously told that people want to 'erase' them. It's unforgivable really.

Yes, how is that these placards were acceptable before the ruling, and should only be investigated if from the most recent protest
Where ever they were you see they are unacceptable
