Radio 4's Any Questions & Any Answers clearly show the trans narrative is still upheld (and the BBC still talk about gender)

(guess who was outraged by SC decision - see image below)

Then Any Answers with a brilliant call from Kate Harris from LGB Alliance with BBC presenter having now idea who she was of that the charity even existed - sigh https://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/m002b6jg

(In both questions the SC ruling was the first issue discussed)

Isn't it great that the National broadcaster is open to a range of views and voices on this and lots of other issues. We're bloody lucky to have the BBC.

3 out of the 4 guests on AQ were supportive of the SC decision. I thought Anita Anand was very balanced on AA.

My OP wasn't about the BBC (apart from their use of the word gender) but that assuming those phoning in are rerpesentative of the wider population, that the SC decision has not settled the issue.

And whilst the majority of the panel may have supported the judgement, that audience did not applaud them, but did the comments about trans rights being undermined.

I have no illusion that the BBC settles anything.

The point of the thread was about how the issue has been received.

And that clearly not all MPs accept the judgement.

The canard that "trans voices were not represented" seems to be really taking root. The caller who followed Kate made this claim and was unchallenged. But on the whole the presenter did seem to be bustin' a gut to be fair and tease out some kind of merit in the callers' positions.

No debate is still firmly fixed in the mind of some of the public, there is still fear about this subject.
