Finally, some common sense. Let's just hope it lasts and the powers that be aren't cowed by the trans lobby challenging it. Which they undoubtedly will.

That's fucking great. What a great week it's been.

You really have no understanding of predators do you?

Lots of rapists have already pretended to be transwomen have you not been paying attention 🙄

I certainly have, but assume you meant to quote someone else.

I think this is one of the most significant aspects of the ruling.

That’s great, but it’s still incredibly frustrating that several years of supposedly sex-based statistics on various issues (crime, health, employment, etc) are ruined forever and will never be able to be corrected to reflect sex where gender was recorded instead.

Rape statistics are probably the easiest to interpret as it’s obvious that all the ‘female’ rapists were male. But for the majority of crimes that could be committed by either sex, and for all sorts of other statistics, the past few years will be a weird anomaly. I hope the ONS are going to put notes on all the skewed data sets so people in the future understand the discrepancies and don’t rely on them for policymaking on sex-based issues.

I am pleased that this announcement has been made. But, isn't this deja vu?

Remember this. One of the craziest moments of the saga

Revolt of the Midwits, PhD (thou/thee)
The Scottish parliament rejected amendments to its bill that would (1) prevent sex offenders using 'gender recognition' certificates to access women's prisons, and (2) remove certificates from convicted rapists, and when I tell people this they're reluctant to believe me
