My heart bleeds for the men who need support from the wellbeing hub because they are upset at no longer being able to violate females. /s

Why would anyone want to avoid it? Is the information not true?

Not before time. I'm wondering how the ruling is going to change the many Unions position on this. Especially TFL who have been full on TWAW. Well, TFL TWANW

Because two things can be true simultaneously:

Factual information
and
Refusing to support GB News outlet in any way, shape or form.

GB News is blocked on all my platforms - I won't let them get any engagement from me.

But even they, like Trump, can be correct from time to time.

Orangemintcream · 17/04/2025 11:58

It is however excellent that they are updating so quickly and ensuring same sex searches.

AnSolas · 17/04/2025 11:59

Any employee female or male who demanded a right to participate in a stripsearch is an employee who should never be employed in any role which has this as a role duty

Lots of posters, like me, won't want to click on a link to GB News. It wasn't obvious from the URL, so I'm just giving people the heads up. If you're not bothered about it, then you can scroll on and ignore my post.

I'm not suggesting that this particular story is untrue. There is a lot of fallout from the Supreme Court judgment yesterday, which I warmly welcomed.

That still doesn't make me want to click on GB News though. It's a vile channel and I don't want to contribute to its advertising revenue.

Chersfrozenface · 17/04/2025 12:05

@MrsBennetsPoorNerves I do hope you regularly lobby the media outlets of which you approve to cover these issues more even-handedly - or at all.

Oh yes to this. I'm interested in how Unison will act following the ruling.

Unison are supporting this "trans rights protest" on Saturday. I'm also interested to see how they act going forward.

When the guardian and BBC start reporting on women's rights fairly, objectively and correctly, maybe we will have alternative sources.

Until then we have to get the news where we can find it.

Felinnefine · 17/04/2025 12:12

Great news.. looking forward to similar decisions from other organisations.

Exactly. The Telegraph, The Times and The Daily Mail were at one point the only news outlets publishing articles criticising the gender woo bollocks and TRA horrors.
We won’t forget.

happydappy2 · 17/04/2025 12:17

whats specifically so bad about GB news? they're factually correct?

lcakethereforeIam · 17/04/2025 12:21

Well I read the article! It also mention the women who were pressurised to search tw. That vile nonsense should stop. I hope some of the victims of this complain and, if necessary, sue. As the Supreme Court clarified it was never lawful. If only they could count on their unions...

Chariothorses · 17/04/2025 12:27

Glad that happened so fast. These organisations know these demands from men who say they are trans are abusive to women, they just thought they could get away with it.

Can you provide a "better" source with the same information then please. So many refuse to publish anything to do with Women's rights. Like the BBC...

Of course if their information is incorrect then that is a different matter entirely.

WandaSiri · 17/04/2025 12:42

Sex Matters has applied for judicial review of this policy and the hearing was delayed pending the ruling of the SC. While it is not directly a precedent (because not about equality law), it's the same sort of arguments for and against. It's been a resounding win for our side so it looks like the police have just accepted that they wouldn't be able to successfully defend their policy.

JazzyJelly · 17/04/2025 13:57

Fantastic news, thanks for sharing!

NoBinturongsHereMate · 17/04/2025 14:34

Brilliant news.

Would be nice if other organisations were as quick to sort their policies, but it's a good start.

Thats happening in the Irish prison system where by law the male inmates with a GRC could go to court and insist on their right to have a female PO carry out a full stripsearch. The Government are aware that the female PO will only carry out a top half search and male POs carry out a bottom half search.
