What is the help though? Medication, you cant force someone to take and a lot of children I work with refuse to take their medication

Therapy? Often not engaged with or not the 'fix' that people fantasise that therapy is

Removing the child? To where? It doesnt always stop the violence and usually once in adulthood is when the risk raises again to other people as they may move back home

This is the issue, there’s no 100% effective treatment for this. Often it seems like a flip goes in somebody’s head and they’re never really ‘normal’ again - their behaviour can be managed with varying degrees of success, but the risk remains.

I hadnt read your post before I posted mine and there are others, you said so yourself?

In any case its somewhat irrelevant to the vast majority of killings by males, often violence starting in childhood and excused quite often I find.

re daughters killing parents, in recent years there is only the one. But i was making the point, that in terms of elder abuse, female relatives do feature, whether economic abuse or physical.

But (and in the incident of killing of sons and daughters) yes it is men who feel able or entitled to kill.

That's the whole point isn't it.

Whatever the "excuse" of hurt male pride as father, husband, boyfriend that idea that this justifies killing another human being seems to be nearly exclusively male.
