@Arran2024 i’m not for a minute suggesting you’re not using commonly established terms, it’s just that I hate them. Deliberately obfuscating languages designed to minimise the horrors.

Tbh I think it's a chilling phrase and makes it clear they are organising a commercial transaction. "Intended parent" is more sugar coated. A prospective adopter could be an intended parent but not a commissioning parent.

And at least it's not as bad as "gestational carrier" which is the other term used for birth mother, which imo completely dehumanises her and what she actually is.

So the clinic provided no information, no one knew the surrogate moms names, they were resident at the clinic throughout the pregnancy- which got paid £120k by the moms to be - and everyone believed they'd returned to their native Ukraine after giving birth.
It's a baby factory isn't it? And those women were trafficked from Ukraine weren't they?
And those 70/80 year old women in their want of children decided not to investigate anything properly and just to focus on their needs and wants for the rest of their lives, never mind the children they had made nor the women who birthed them.
What a depressing world we live in.

What a horrifying case of human trafficking, this should be front page news and govts should be meeting internationally to discuss how to prevent such incidents. Anyone pro surrogacy should consider how any surrogacy arrangement is as vulgar and selfish as this; their age is not the only factor of concern.

Exactly - it's horrific and likely the tip of the iceberg
