Court of Appeal ruling for Kristie Higgs

Landmark ruling from he Court of Appeal concerning a pastoral administrator sacked from a Gloucestershire school. This case has dragged on for 7 years but she has won. The way she has been treated for expressing her view that the diversity materials being provided at her children's primary school [not the one she worked at] were not appropriate is truly appalling.
Sorry I could not get a share token but maybe someone can oblige.

Thank you for the update on the appeal. I think that the SC is right. Whether you agree with Kirsty Higgs personal views or not it does seem the school has had a vendetta against her.

@@Zusammengebrochen This woman is a Christian who sent her child to a Christian primary school. She objected to that school teaching things she didnt think a Christian school should be teaching primary aged children. I know some people send their children to religious schools for other reasons but she sent her child there because she wanted him taught in accordance with her faith.

She said nothing about the school where she worked, there was no evidence that she ever expressed her views to any person at the school where she worked. She expressed views about a faith school and Christian teaching and was sacked because of that faith.

You can argue about whether faith schools should exist and whether all children should be brainwashed into your particular belief but you should not be arguing that she did anything wrong or that the school were right to treat her in the way they did.

I dont attend any place of worship and I dont think Christ ever expressed a view about homosexuality. Other people are allowed to believe what they want and express those views away from their workplace.

Anyone who objects to same sex marriage deserves to be held to account.

I disagree - if it's your actual job like being a registrar, then you need to get over yourself and do your job - or find a different one. Same goes for pharmacists who get virtue signally about contraception.

But this wasn't anything to do with the school. I wonder how much taxpayers' money has been wasted on this.
