Feminist groups and organisations.

After the women's march debacle recently, I'd love to know which feminist groups, charities and organisations have a gender critical stance, which ones welcome trans individuals who are biologically male, which are for biological women only, etc.

I stumbled upon an ad the other day for a "Women's circle" and it took me a good fifteen minutes before I dug enough to find they are actually inclusive of biological men.

A list would be extremely useful. I'd love to know which to support and which to swerve.

I think you will find both these groups, and many others may well be "gender critical" or rather support women's sex based rights such as Single Sex Services under the SSE of the EA but wouldn't exclude trans women.

If memory serves me right, wasn't Julia Long and other women banned from having a stall and so held a demo outside FiLia in London because it included TW.

And as the WRC statement makes clear many of their member groups not only provide SSS, but also services to trans women.

Sorry didn't come on this thread to be a nay sayer, and althought I know nia's CEO has been vocal about women's sex based rights, in fact their web site is very vague. Which as a service provider in this day and age is bad.

ie there is nothing explicit either way to say whether services are trans inclusive or not.

Most women service provider groups usual make some sort of statement either way.

It must be difficult if you have kept your head down over the past couple of decades to then be specific.

Its easier for the campaign groups such as Sex Matters who have only recently formed - although as a campaign group they may well have TW who support them. Just as LGB Alliance does!

Nia offer single sex services, they do offer services to trans identifying males but they are in addition to the women's services.

The Women's Rights Network have local groups and are 'Adult Human Females' 🙂

I'm a member of WRN and we are definitely female only.
Standing For Women has local groups.
The LGB Alliance is GC and has also set up local groups.
Women's Declaration International is GC and has excellent free webinars every weekend which are later uploaded to YouTube.

Women's Voice is captured and includes men
The WI is captured but there are some members who have formed a group to fight back
If you're interested in politics, the 4 main parties all have GC groups within them

Well I assumed that as most funded VAW sector groups do.

But it is really bad not to spell out on their web site that this is the case.

A woman seeking support would not know from the web site whether the organisation is using the word women in the biological sense.

Service users deserve to know when first making contact, not as the ERCC thought okay, only later on.

Lookuptotheskies · 17/02/2025 20:52

Iwanttoretire this is it exactly. I wish they'd all just make it crystal clear and easy to find out one way or another.

As a woman I want to know very clearly. It shouldn't be difficult info to find.

Cariadlet yes I've noticed the political parties all have GC groups within them.

My local MP I've noticed follows lots of GC pages and groups on social media.
