The Queensland reviews should all be finished within 10 months. There’s three in total happening. Two are specifically about Cairns/FNQ. This government has only been in power for 3 and a bit months. I think we elect them every 3 years. Might be 4. Anyway, they have at least 2.75 years to do stuff.
The federal review will take until mid next year to even issue interim advice. That government might be out of power within 3 months. I think the election has to be held by mid May this year and polls indicate that they’ll lose. Most likely their review won’t be completed, or will get a change in direction with a change in government.
I think I read that the Qld Health Minister essentially told the fed gov to mind their own business because the states administer the health system, not the federal government.
