Great news,

I am delighted to have reached settlement in my Employment Tribunal case for discrimination and victimisation in connection with Civil Service EDI initiatives.

DCMS and DSIT have agreed to pay £116k, and to make a statement committing to overhaul their HR policies.

DCMS is Lisa Nandy's department, I think.

Ah, so the CMS is Culture, Media, and Sport?
As PP have said, a great result, which will make a real difference; thanks, Eleanor!

Congratulations Frances.

Again, I'm also upset that you were subject to an officially sanctioned campaign of bullying and harassment and pleased that you have had such an emphatic win.

Yes. Will those behind the officially sanctioned campaign of bullying and harassment be held to account? I hope so.

Fantastic news - thank you so much for your bravery!
I hope you have found a great job elsewhere!

Your courage in following this through despite the stress and victimisation you faced is admirable. Hopefully what you achieved will also impact staff and members of the public affected by bias in other organisations, such as the Police and NHS.
Thank you!

Whilst this is a great result, how much more needs to happen before the government decides that not another penny of tax payers money should go to Stonewall? I can wait.

Thank you for being brave and strong enough to have fought this battle, it can't have been easy. I used to be a CS and I doubt that I could have done what you have done.

As others have said many congratulations for challenging this oppressive takeover as an individual.

But it is so sad, that despite the many brave women using the law to protect their and our rights, many institutions are still captured. And quite often with the apparent support of staff.

I think someone started a thread to list all the legal wins.

This is not only important to recognise the courage and time this took, but also provides others who find themselves facing similar discrimination with a list of legal precedents they can use to back up their arguement. And maybe make the employer (or whoever) aware that Stonewall law is NOT the actual law.

Good point! I'm going to write to a theatre near me to point to this win and ask about their gender neutral toilets which caused no end of confusion when I was there recently. Ex-mens and women's loos side by side with people trying to go to the right ones either through memory or by seeing where the majority of people of their sex went. An elderly woman in a sari was very perplexed and anxious granddaughter was asking "you ok grandma?" as they negotiated the farcical situation.
Time for them to get new door signs Smile
