I thought posters might enjoy this. Given that the FT has been fairly Woke on these issues, it's quite refreshing

That's odd, I copy and pasted an image. Obviously I've done it wrong, apologies

She’s learned absolutely nothing

Nicola Sturgeon in the FT
INeedAPensieve · 11/01/2025 10:00

She is digging down. She really is a true believer. I don't know who I find more contemptuous, the ones who keep digging their heels in or the ones that reverse ferret when they realise they can no longer deny the concerns about women, girls and child safeguarding.

I genuinely don't understand the psychology of Nicola sturgeon.

Sasskitty · 11/01/2025 10:01

Fck Krankie. Why is she still getting anyone’s time of day?

SirChenjins · 11/01/2025 10:13

Is she on the TRA’s payroll or something? She has learned nothing, it seems. Most bizarre.

Well those that dig down are either a) not listening/not comprehending or b) have unwavering beliefs. Those that reverse ferret have either a) caught up and paid attention to a topic they perhaps nodded along with before or b) read the room and decided which serves their interest better,

The digging heels in lot are the least intelligent. So I have most contempt for them when they are also masquerading as leaders/ex-leaders of state. (If they have family complications - transchild or such) I can at least understand.

It's not really bizarre. She is biding her time until she can step down in advance of the Scottish elections in 2026 in the hope that someone offers her a nice wee highly-paid advocacy position somewhere or working for some sort of charity. I hate the woman with every fibre of my being, she is one of the root causes of the division here in Scotland (her and Salmond) and a decade on the scars of the Indy Ref are still wifde open. I will also never forgive her for hte handling of covid which saw us restricted hugely longer than other places and ruined my eldest's mental health.

But she is a canny politician and is always "on duty", she is not going to say/do anything which will damage her employment chances going forward. She's probably already on a nod and a promise from one of the big campaigning groups.

Toseland · 11/01/2025 10:42

I think she is saying there is a 'rapist gender'?! Stonewall should be asked to explain this.

GargoylesofBeelzebub · 11/01/2025 10:45

@CharityShopChic I echo everything you have said down to my eldest's
Mental health also being destroyed. She is utterly vile. She will land on her feet no doubt but hopefully her future career options have been damaged somewhat.

Shame it's looking increasingly unlikely operation Branchform will end up with her being charged.

CocoapuffPuff · 11/01/2025 11:15

I expect with her, it'll take her or a female friend or relative actually being harmed physically by a trans-identified-rapist-gender individual in a female loo or changing room for her to even begin to care. She's had a transbotomy, her brain is totally rewired.

Penguinface · 11/01/2025 11:23

I also agree that Isla Bryson (previously Adam Graham) is a convicted double rapist. His biological sex is male and he does not seem to have obtained a GRC but his gender identity and presentation are female.

Nicola, do you think he should be sent to the male or the female prison estate? Can you think of any risks involved in sending a male-bodied rapist to a locked facility full of women?

Penguinface · 11/01/2025 11:28

I have met some quite scary girls in my life. I heard a story of a Welsh woman who ended an unpleasant sexual experience by introducing the unrequired penis to a pebble-dashed wall at speed 😬

There's a bit of me thinks that you should let trans-identified men into the women's wing, especially in Scotland, so they can meet some real female power. But then I realise that is unfair and unsafe for the women involved.

Like most reasonable people, I think a third-space, special facility would be acceptable, or simply categorisation by birth sex. I don't really want trans-identified women in with male criminals.

any serious top level outfit must surely look at her carrying on like this and think "do we want this loon on the payroll? maybe not". She is toast and will become the political equivalent of Simon Dee (one for the teenagers there)

MarieDeGournay · 11/01/2025 14:28

Funny that she refers to the republic of Ireland 'having none of the terrible consequences..'

When canvassers called to my house prior to the General Election, I asked them about repealing the Gender Recognition Act (which was enthusiastically supported by ALL political parties) and restoring sex-based rights instead of gender-based ones and I pointed to the SNP and Sturgeon and warned them - 'you don't want to get into the same mess as the SNP because of daft gender policies, now do you?

We've had a very violent man housed in a women's prison, we have self-ID so any man can legally become a woman, we've had the conflation of trans with lesbian and gay issues, we've had all the 'pregnant people' mullarkey.. and it looks like the tide of public opinion is now turning against it.

So, ironically, while Nicola Sturgeon is holding up Ireland as an example of how to do things, we are holding her up a warning about how NOT do to things!

I think she’s someone who can NEVER admit to being wrong. If she has an opinion or view it is the CORRECT opinion or view and everybody else is wrong and she won’t back down. I say this based on more than just her attitude to genderism. She seems wilfully stubborn and convinced of her own superiority 🤷‍♀️

Yes I think you're right there. She reminds me of my narcissist uncle who we no longer see. He never apologised and was never ever wrong. It was infuriating.

There's so many utterly captured institutions here (Creative Scotland, Scottish Poetry Library, ERCC, just about every arts venue etc etc) that I'm pretty definite she'll find a place in Scotland, if not one of the equally captured international institutions (Amnesty etc). It's what she's been aiming for all this time.

If she's a true believer, them she's dangerous. If she's not but is happy to put truth and reason to one side to her own ends, then she's equally dangerous. Either way, it's shit for us all.

Still on the taxpayer's payroll. Somehow.

She missed Barbie Kardashian shouting rape threats at women in prison?

ArabellaScott · 11/01/2025 21:54

And in fact the Irish politician who reported to the GRR enquiry talked about unforeseen consequences and said they'd do it differently in hindsight.

CocoapuffPuff · 11/01/2025 21:58

She doesn't WANT to see the consequences.
None of these feckers do.
Seeing the consequences means facing the truth and we all know how little these arseholes like the truth. She's still denying she knew her beard oops husband spent £xxxxxxxx of our money on a bloody luxury motorhome, despite it being parked right outside his mother's house.
She's clearly very deliberately "blind" when it comes to certain things.

HornyHornersPinkyWinky · 11/01/2025 21:59

I'm so sick of other countries using Ireland as some sort of utopian example on this issue. It's complete bollocks, firstly the media here do not report on problems with Self ID, and much of the public isn't aware that it's actually happening, most people don't know about Barbie Kardashian, grown men on girls GAA teams, or even what the actual law says.

The law was brought in here by stealth, without proper public consultation or awareness, no public vote - not exactly a shining example of democratic process.

☝️☝️☝️Absolutely correct.

Irish media is completely refusing to cover these issues adequately or at all. And when the subject can’t be avoided, coverage in broadsheets and on RTÉ is very much limited and in the manner of 'there is one virtuous way of thinking about this and disagreement is bad & wrong'.

It’s tiresome!! And, along with other issues that have been decried as merely 'culture war' this condescending attitude from much of the Establishment is contributing to discontent.
