It's a belter of a piece.

'2024 was the year women showed us the way to a better world'

'The world should be careful in who it celebrates or tolerates whilst women are denied bodily autonomy, education, or the opportunity to be anything other than the possession of a man. After global outrage in 2023 for the plight of women in both countries, 2024 was much quieter. 2025 cannot afford to do the same'

Thoughtful piece:

For campaigning, there is no small slate of candidates to choose from – all of them right on our own doorsteps. The powerhouse trio of Trina Budge, Marion Calder, and Susan Smith (For Women Scotland) have unarguably brought one of the most incredible cases to the supreme court in all of its history. Forcing politicians, and indeed the commentariat at large, albeit with some notable exceptions, to confront the simple question “what is a woman?” has been remarkable to watch. Whatever the outcome of the Supreme Court in the next few months, FWS will have won, and its ripples will reverberate across the world.
Roz Adams also makes the shortlist for shining a light on the insanity of putting ideology ahead of safety with her case against the Edinburgh Rape Crisis Centre. In a year where the world lost so much of its senses, this case was up there with the worst of them. Women across Edinburgh are now safer because of Roz, and in spite of the ERCC which as a sentence is as unbelievable to read as it was to write.

Brilliant article. Shame about some of the comments underneath it though.

Gisele courage has been astounding. All of the women listed in fact.

Wow. A powerful reminder of what real courage looks like.
