The school has unisex toilets and Emma has now slammed Dundee City Council over a lack of single-sex sanitary facilities, which she believes is putting young girls at risk.
She continued: "School is meant to be the one place where we can send our children and know that they are safe but where is the safeguarding when this can happen?
"If it wasn't for the mixed toilets then this just would never have happened.
"This is something that a lot of parents have been concerned about for a number of years and since I spoke out about what happened to my daughter, loads of people have come forward and agreed that unisex toilets are huge issue.
"This boy would simply not have had access to the girls toilets otherwise.
"I will be looking for assurances from the council that they are going to do something to make sure our children are safe before I even consider sending my daughter back to that school."

Yes, but they decided to push the boundaries, by having individual cubicles, with floor to ceiling doors. There were cases of boys kicking the doors open, with one girl ending up with a concussion, last year.

It's bloody insane, these ideologues just refuse to admit that they are wrong, wrong, wrong. They don't give a shit that girls are going all day without drinking, to avoid going to the toilet. The don't care one bit about the effects on both their physical and mental health.

No they don't. That's the truth of it. They have not bothered to ask girls what they thought before doing this nor to research the effects. Nor to apply a bit of common sense that this was not a good idea.
They just don't care. They care about being seen as 'progressive'. They are sheep, not leaders.

My daughter is Y7, middle school and they have separate toilets and no mixed sports this year (after Y6). Shed be raging if she had to go to the loo with boys.

The only answer is a very noisy press saturated class legal action.

What do they mean: “without thinking about it”?

I think about the risk of hidden cameras every time I have to use a toilet facility that males have access to.

And women aren’t safe from hidden cameras in their own home if men have access to that either. Whether that’s their husband, boyfriend, father, landlord otherwise other male.

And/or lazy, complacent, self-serving careerist cowards.

Who could possibly have foreseen this?* *Women who attended mixed sex schools. For years, we've warned unisex facilities made voyeurism and harassment laughably easy, and argued that girls deserved privacy and dignity. In return, we were called pearl-clutchers, bigots and Nazis.

Our local swimming pool has just changed the male and female changing rooms into a mixed sex 'changing village' I wonder if they've got any plans to stop cameras and phones being planted. Is it possible to detect them?

I go a couple of times a week - it’s something I need in my life - but I have a changing robe thing that I pull on to take off wet swimwear underneath, I’m never visibly naked. It’s extra room in my bag, and I shouldn’t need it for peace of mind, but I do.

This was absolutely inevitable, and is probably going on undetected in other schools around the country. I hope those poor girls demonstrate loudly outside the school and bring nationwide attention to that shitshow of a school. And a class action suit from the parents would be great.

That's a good idea. The old changing rooms had family changing rooms so had areas that were mixed sex. I last went with a child about 8 years ago and it would never have occurred to me that someone could plant a recording device. Now I wouldn't assume anywhere was secure - mixed sex or not.

They have arrested a 15 year old boy.

The strange thing about my 'gender neutral' toilet at home is that DH and DS don't actually use the same toilet as me at home. And I certainly don't share it with men I don't know.

Isn't the 15 year old boy a "young vulnerable child" but apparently had the wherewithal to install a camera to spy on little girls.
