I was cheered by this article's arguments, maybe the ban on puberty blockers will indeed be permanent, which would be a very good thing indeed.

That's very clear and concise, I've thought of all of those things, but never coalesced them into one group, if you like. The do no harm part strikes me, we and medical professionals know that PBs do significant harms, not least by retarding mental development.

The trans zealots will not like this at all.

Good to see this laid out so clearly for those of us unfamiliar with medical ethics. But as we've seen this week, the trans extremists are ramping up their hysteria and threats in the face of society's belated decision to prioritise safeguarding children.

I agree the 'trans' zealots won't like it but solid arguments like this put the case against puberty blockers on firmer and firmer ground, and I'm starting to hope again. All though I'm not getting carried away with it, but it's a great comfort to me knowing there are very intelligent and able people fighting this. 😊

That's all good stuff, and ties it together very neatly. And you could chuck in the already-made point that half (?) of the kids in the trial will want these drugs, and as soon as it becomes clear to them that they are in a control group, they may well leave the trial, perhaps hoping to access them otherwise (as suggested by the awful IW).
