Their business model is looking increasingly Wobberley.

Bad puns aside, this is indeed a fantastic first step at shutting down the private sector side of this hideous medical scandal.

Well done Singapore.

I'm not a fan of authoritarianism (the Singaporean authorities are hardcore on their rules) but on this occasion it's a positive as it's a deterrent. I can't imagine Helen W will be looking for loopholes like Susie Green did with her Northern Ireland/EU approach re puberty blockers.

This is brilliant news.

This is indeed welcome news. I think she'll just move her operation to a country which allows it, however.

Myalternate · 06/12/2024 13:00

Is she still able to prescribe internationally?

And hopefully that will prompt that country to ban her operation and then other countries will follow suit 🤞

Singapore did not act earlier because the trans scourge did not take root in our authoritarian society which had the good sense to make sure our kids were safe from making ridiculous life endangering decisions until they were at least 21. Our health care system does not allow for "gender affirmation". Webberly based her business in Singapore for logistical reasons and now that the authorities have woken up to the reputational harm, the gig is over. I will take Singapore style authoritarianism over US style liberal stupidity anyday.
