BTP have issued new guidance on strip searches and under it any man with a GRC can strip search any women. But it's OK as the equality act (and the haldane ruling) says that the GRC makes the man female 🤬

The British Transport Police policy allows recently transitioned officers to intimately search women if they have been issued a gender recognition certificate.

If Sex Matters need funding for the judicial review then I’m more than happy to oblige and throw a few wee pennies into the pot.

Rationally, a sensible government should realise that (with all these court cases, judicial reviews, and employment tribunals highlighting the dangerous nonsense that is allowing men to legally pretend to change sex) it would behoove them to improve the legislative protections for women but so far….nada.

It's refreshing to hear Sex Matters being called human rights charity!

Archive link for the Telegraph article posted upthread by @MrsOvertonsWindow, I think it's the same one

The BTP said....“Who British Transport Police transgender colleagues may search is determined by an interaction between the legal framework of the Police and Criminal Evidence Act (1984), Code of Practice on the Exercise by Constables of Powers of Stop and Search of the Person in Scotland 2017, and the Equality Act (2010), with the correct application of occupational requirement, and not limited to the provisions of the Gender Recognition Act (GRA) (2004).

See! Quite clear. Don't know what everyone's worrying about Hmm

Although spare a thought for PC Britney, whose gagging to search his her first woman uterus-haver, but the Postman hasn't been yet to deliver his her GRC.

It feels like Fall of Rome stuff - when there's a scintilla of doubt over whether men should be allowed to search women. The answer is

NO, NO, NO!
