Re: the "nasty person" interview; I looked up the text behind the link.
Former drummer Sal Abruscato was airing a couple of different topics.
A main topic was that he has a child with a disability, and at the time his wife was pregnant again; he had to leave the tour due to family emergencies. He thought that the other band members, not just Mina / Keith did not understand the nature of his problems in an emergency and in daily life with the child.
He also composed huge parts of their comeback album and thought that in return, the band could cut him some slack when he needed family time.
Specifically regarding Mina / Keith, there is a telling sentence - quoting Mina from another interview from the above link: "All of the members of the band are so wonderful, holding doors open for me, carrying my bags, making sure I'm safe. They treat me like they treat their wives."
This looks like Caputo, too, fell into the "I'm a feminine lady" performance trap; assuming that behaving like a "typical woman" would make him more woman-like (I am not negating his gender dysphoria, which I think is / was real). Abruscato could have been wondering why his band mate of many years suddenly couldn't carry his own bag on tour anymore, seeing as he knew perfectly well he could do it.
This is of course just a brief glimpse into the band situation, and one small example.
Abruscato told in that interview that he felt the transition was too much in the limelight in contrast to their band output. That's a legit concern to have.
However, Caputo, if his Instagram feed is any indication, changed his mind considerably since then. The interview with the drummer is from 2019.
Caputo also speaks out strongly against medicalisation and explains that he had a lot of therapy even before deciding to transition; that medication should not be the first step in any case.
He is against vaccines and supports JFK jr as health minister, though, not everything is perfect, but on the transition topic he has enough experience to be a believable voice.
