Interesting narrative from several perspectives but correlation is not causation etc. This is likely to be multifactorial phenomenon or even a collection of phenomena.

Although there are several examples of weasel words, if not outright lies, in this article, this stood out to me

Jenni Minto, the public health minister, telling the Scottish parliament that “children and young people are not taught about their own gender identity in schools”

My bold. So they are being taught this disputed ideology. Is she saying that children are incapable of applying it to themselves? A gender identity, something that everyone has apparently.

We need a public enquiry. I'm sick of the lack of curiosity as to why trans has suddenly become such a big thing.

Who'd of guessed that all of us who complained about the schools indoctrating our children were right

I don't think all references to gender identity should be removed - it is better to provide unbiased and good information than leave children to find out from their peers who spend too much time on line.

Our school had a lot of children with gender identities at one point, mainly down to the kind of parent we have at the school, and it was therefore taught very much like a religion would be. They shared the resources and it was very much "girls can like blue, boys can like ballet.... some people think this means their bodies are wrong, we call them transgender... move on." Even a fairly low reading comprehension would see that this belief was contradicted by girls liking blue. The only parents who complained were those transitioning their kids.

We know how to teach children about the beliefs of others without trying to convert them to or away from any particular faith - we just need to be sure gender is done similarly well.

It is a disaster for kids to think this is some big thing parents are hiding from them, that they have discovered the answers to their problems on line. I have always openly talked about all the strange things people believe and I think my GNC kids are fairly immune as a result.

That sounds a sensible approach @LadyQuackBeth
