Any worthwhile genderist sites?

I've been following the fascinating discussion on the 'Democrats Need an Honest Conversation...' thread and came across this, in a post by @FlirtsWithRhinos:

"A handy rubric for me is when you come across a story that makes you go "Yes!", that seems to align to exactly what your own perspective is, either agreeing with you or gosh-darn just a great example of exactly what the other side get so wrong, be wary."

Please don't deny me my gosh-darn "Yes!"s I wanted to shout while chewing this over. We all need some dopamine in our life.

I am, of course, aware of the dangers of living in a bubble; is the answer to sample other bubbles? (For the record, I don’t think of FWR as a bubble. More an oasis of sanity, with helpful TPAs [Trans Privileges Activists] to keep it from getting bubbly.) I regularly expose myself to plenty of dissenting opinions, and funnily enough, don’t regard them as hate speech, as appalling as some of them are to my sensibilities.

Back to the title: can anyone recommend a site that won't have me gnawing my arm off in frustration by the idiocy?

I find it hard to recommend a specific site to you because I encounter genderism everywhere from podcasts to previously august orgs like Scientific American & London Review of Books to the social media minefield that is TwiX. I've never found any coherence in any of the discussions even when the discussions are among people who all agree that gender identity is a thing.

There are a lot of YouTuber interview and discussion channels that are genderist, you could try watching one and letting the algorithm take you along to similar channels 🤔

As per Helen Joyce's piece - the problem is that this is like looking for a flying dodo.

And the result is that their intelligence and moral compasses have degraded; neither are necessary in their circles to survive or thrive. Unchallenged by any performance standards whatsoever and showered with government funding and research grants, they spend their days spewing out witless arguments and absurd research. They’re like dodos puttering around Mauritius, except without the bumbling charm.

Actually, transactivists aren’t merely insulated from the pressures that would normally lead them to come up with better policies and arguments; they’re subjected to pressures that actively produce nonsense and reward them for strategic ignorance.

[...]

Even as the transactivists have sat inside their epistemic bubble allowing their faculties to degenerate, our side has experienced extreme selection pressures.

In which, inspired by interviewing Richard Dawkins, I muse on what evolution tells us about why the gender-critical side has all the best arguments

I lurk every so often on Reddit for this reason. So many of my friends are right-thinking lefties who believe this stuff (or at least say they do) that I want to keep challenging myself as I wish I could agree with them - it would make some very precious friendships a little more solid.

(I'm also sad that I know that some of old friends will drop me like a rock if they find out I am as GC as I am. I wouldn't ever drop them over their gender views but they don't seem to be able to tolerate any deviation from the gender orthodoxy.)

I keep meaning to take a look at this:

Might be interesting?

https://www.queermajority.com/

Try Queer Majority, it's not specifically genderist but I've found it has articles that come from all perspectives in the debate, and thoughtful critiques of genderist positions.

Queer Majority

Crushed between prudish traditionalism and dour activism culture, society desperately needs to get laid.

I read a lot of genderism because I want to know and understand the trans activist position, I just think none of it is very well argued. I guess something fairly neutral would be nearest to what you are looking for. Don't hold your breath for good, rational arguments though, it's mostly emotional blackmail.

Derailing slightly to salute your intentions,CyclingSam!
I just started reading The Irrational Ape by David Robert Grimes, subtitled:
'Why we fall for disinformation, conspiracy theory and propaganda', it might be up your street...

I'm not on any social media, and I look at a range of the websites of known publications and broadcasters, and individual commentators - for instance during the Imane Khelif controversy at the Olympics, I followed the story on the French-language [I don't have Arabic] Algerian newspaper sites. As well as getting 'the other side', I also got an interesting insight into the heated social and political context IK was operating in.

I am a fan of websites, whether of newspapers, broadcasters or individuals. They often have references, and archives, so I feel they encourage reading and studying rather than the quick reply. But that's just me..

"....none of it is very well argued". How could it be? All exchanges, if boiled down would go something like this-"trans women are women". "Dont be so fucking stupid you utter mentalist , of course they are not, and never can be". " Im being genocided". "grow up, twat" ".............."

A couple of sites popped into my head last night when I was doing the washing up and not actively thinking about this thread.

They are the most interesting things I've ever read by genderists (for want of a better term).

These are both an interesting read, and the second one could have been written by a GC person, except for this bit:

... cis people ... come up with absolutely ludicrous explanations for why trans people ... are trans. The “trans women are self-hating gay men.” The “trans men want to gain male privilege.” The “trans women fetishize themselves as female.” The “nonbinary people are making it up for attention or for queer streed cred.” The “trans women are agents of patriarchy appropriating womanhood in order to invade women’s spaces.” These explanations aren’t just dumb, they’re obviously dumb.

I'm pretty sure I could come up with at least one real life example of every single one of these. Writer is wilfully blind.

I do agree with their conclusion that sometimes you just don't understand a person's compulsion, but you can still accept that it exists.
