"How Trans Ideology Aids and Abets Predators" - Brendan O'Neill Interviews Genevieve Gluck

I somehow managed to miss this interview when it came out at the end of last month, so I thought I'd post a link to it here for anyone else who might have missed it.

It's an excellent discussion of a few of the more worrying stories that have been covered by Genevieve in the last 12 months. And, as usual, Brendan does not shy away from addressing the issues in terms of the dangerous elements contained in gender identity ideology and how the associated male behaviour poses a danger for women and children.

The whole world owes a huge debt of gratitude to Genevieve Gluck for her service to humanity in trawling the depths of male depravity and bringing it to our attention.

You are so right in what you say; I would not be able to tolerate the things that Genevieve has seen/read and I find her commitment to safeguarding so impressive. I love that Reduxx made safeguarding a core part of their founding statement.

Thank you for the link. It still confuses me as to why Genevieve's work on the 'eunuch archives' didn't have a huge impact, but now it is being used as evidence in a US court case, maybe it will happen after all.

That confuses the hell out of me too - I think it was either politicians/civil servants etc who support WPATH refusing to engage with the story in the hopes of killing off interest OR people thought it was so horrifying that couldn’t be true.

Given that her work is being cited in court cases, and that other journalists are starting to use the stories she breaks, we know that her investigations are properly researched and sourced.

Thanks for the link. Sickening and so depressing (once again) to hear the disregard for women’s and children’s safety and dignity. How have people become so enthralled in this madness?

The next time someone questions my GC views I’ll ask them to listen to this and then come back to me with their questions.

I’ve noticed that, in my experience, people who consider themselves “kind” do not want to hear information that upsets them or their ‘kind’ views. And when I provide them with the type of information that O’Neill and Gluck are discussing they refuse to engage with it because it upsets them. They will declare it all false rather than actually listen to something that challenges their preferred view of a topic.

I don’t flinch from engaging with upsetting information; I’d rather know what is really happening in the world, I make sure to read on both sides of an issue because I want to have my views challenged. I got caught in an echo chamber when I was younger and I never want to find myself in one again because it left me ill-equipped to deal with the world as it really was.

@TennisToday in my job I come regularly on contact with teens who either identify as trans or they/them. They are young people who are confused about their identity on many levels (I work with a specific group of young people). I strive to show empathy and understanding of their exploitation. But I also gently remind my colleagues of the CASS review and other relevant events to try to temper the hard line that I see sometimes. So I agree finding a balance and respecting all views is important.

But following on from your argument that people don’t like the talk about difficult and uncomfortable evidence of the link to porn, fetishising and kinks etc. I would agree however what really, really worries me is the professionals whose job it is to talk about these issues and to be informed about them. Yet some of them are the biggest champions of TWAW and supporting trans identifying children. Just look at how captured social work is. Now that is what is extremely scary. It’s literally their job and yet they are being blidsided and won’t enter into a conversation about the fact that it might be men who are literally out to harm women and children. For me there is NO excuse for that. I know it’s often said on MN but I do believe history won’t be kind to this group of professionals (police, social workers, teachers, etc).

Thank you for sharing your experiences, I can imagine how deeply concerning this is for you.

I know what you mean when it comes to professionals like Police, NHS, teachers, MPs, social workers etc. I feel they are really remiss in their duty by not staying well-informed on serious issues such as this. I've come across people employed in the caring professions who are proud to state publicly that they have not read the Cass Review. They, like the BMA, are convinced it's codswallop but not because they've read it and have logical reasons for disagreeing but, rather, because their social circle told them it was rubbish.

It's the total lack of curiosity on this issue that drives me crazy - people who have responsibility for the lives and welfare of others should be well-read and open-minded and, as much as possible, not vulnerable to (any) ideological group think such as gender identity ideology. I feel we have an ongoing medical/social work/third sector scandal on our hands and I know that by the time there is a government inquiry launched far too much damage will have been done and many of the worst offenders will escape scot free.

People like Genevieve Gluck, Brendan O'Neill, Helen Joyce, Maya Forstater, Richard Dawkins et al have made some headway but the media landscape is so polarised that what they are highlighting in terms of dangers and concerns doesn't often make it through to the media that is most consumed by people who work in the public and third sectors.
